The fantastic and friendly staff at the entrance makes the start of exploration pleasant with your picture taken as well. Then, the various spies of fish and sea animals you will see make the visit even more thrilling. I can't forget my first experience of seeing a jellyfish, so beautiful.

Since the redo of the aquarium, I believe the Two Oceans Aquarium has become the best aquarium in SA. The I&J exhibit is a site to behold, the jelly world is wonderful, the penguins has a great sanctuary. All the exhibits are very well lit, looked after and there is a huge variety of things to see. Well worth the price.

A wonderful experience at the aquarium.
Clean and well maintained. Feeding time was so interesting watching the divers feed the stingray. Compliments to the aquarium for educating the audience on the importance of keeping our oceans clean. Apart from the sharks, stingrays and the bigger fish, there are several very interesting fish and sea creatures, like the sea horses and eels. Very great experience. Kids loved the dispkays. The penguin area is very unique. Bathrooms are nice and clean, staff are friendly. The only issue I had was the air circulation inside, some areas felt under-ventilated, especially where a lot of people stood together

Very nice aquarium with a variety of fish. There's a tank with so many nemos in it! The jellyfish for me personally were the most interesting to see. There's also a water tunnel that you walk through where the fish swim right over your head. The aquarium is great but since I've visited the Dubai Mall Aquarium I think it's better than Two Oceans but Two Oceans is still worth a visit. The kids will love this place to admire all of the different types of sea life. Also, if you don't want to go all the way to Simon's Town to see penguins, you'll see a whole bunch of them here.

The Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town is by far one of the highlights when visiting the Mother City. A stunning variety of marine wildlife will keep the family, adults and kids alike, entertained for hours on end. The shows are highly educational; and highlights the need for marine protection and environmental awareness. The well-defined souvenir store will ensure that you get the perfect keep-sake for that someone special.

This is well worth a visit in Cape Town, if you're in the Waterfront area. Exhibitions regularly change and are both in tanks and outside for people to see and even touch. A favourite is the tank tunnel where feeding often occurs right above your head. The range of fish, birds and crustaceans is phenomenal. Definitely worth a visit instead of the boring mall nearby.

You know what?! I was just swimming around in the ocean, minding my own BUSINESS! and then suddenly I felt a prickle on my leg that got sent up my spinal cord, it was a NET! Then, they threw me in the back of their water filled boat. They saw me, but mistook me for a octopus. I heard them say "Wow, thats an ugly octopus". So I peed (inked) everywhere. They then put me in the two oceans aquarium where I then was almost eaten by a shark.

I was never able to go to the Aquarium as a kid so I was excited to take my kids there. I can honestly say it was the most amazing experience. Grown adults feel like kids again when they see the sea life held here. I highly recommend that anyone old enough to know what a fish is, go visit the Two Oceans Aquarium. Truely Amazing

An absolute must for all those visiting Cape Town for the first time. This is a great options for families and kids with lots to keep the little ones busy, there is daily feeds, info talks and arts and crafts. The aquarium is very clued up on playing an active role in ocean conservation and leaving a smaller carbon footprint. It is run by both professionals and volunteers that have a passion for the ocean and wild life. It can get a bit busy in the afternoon as it is a popular tourist spot but it is definitely worth the wait. They have recently renovated so there is now a brand new jelly fish exhibit! I would highly recommend.

Feels a bit cramped for how many people and school children seem to visit. I would suggest trying to go at an off time.

Definite good place to visit with your kids on school holidays. They will superbly enjoy themselves learning and being fascinated by the beauty of the sea world. Most amazing thing would be seeing their faces and a spark of curiosity being lit about the sea and it’s species. Entrance is pricey but worthwhile. If you are a couple try scuba diving, you will definitely enjoy it 😉

Seeing different water species was very interesting, place well maintained and very clean. Enjoyed various live bands in the V&A Waterfront, this is empowerment to the youth and attractive to the tourist. Keep it up guys

My experience was mediocre. The gift store is disgustingly over priced for locals and i wonder what I&J (their big sponsor) does for the conservation of our oceans? Honestly the experience at UShaka Marine World was by far better.

I think that it was an incredible experience, specially with the 2 huge tanks, where you can spend a lot of time seeing this adorable creatures and learning a little bit more about the ocean life, so precious and so diverse, and yet, SO ENDANGERED by Human inconsequential activity Too many spectators behave themselves as it is "just another exhibition", but the real goal of this aquarium to show people how their acts and interaction have a direct impact over SO MANY beings (with all sort of size, and form)

I just thought it would add a real value to the experience IF there were trained personnel around the exhibition to talk about the species and their specifics It would enrich the experience. Placards and sigs are good, but knowledgeable people is better.response / report this review -

Happy with experience, facilities and child friendly environment. Can do with a little more variety however difficult to argue as it is might lose some of the child friendliness as a result. Well maintained, cozy, fortunate enough to have an opportunity to pop in now and then. Please keep it up and keep on renewing this facility, I do see the upgrades and happy to say that they are often what is required to keep their general public and my audience happy.

The aquarium has some interesting exhibits and is quite child and family friendly. The predator exhibit has reopened but it's quite sparse in terms of shark numbers and other species- hoping it will be improved over time! The focus on environmentally friendly living is amazing with some great interactive exhibits.

It's really one of the best places for kids when the weather isn't great in Cape Town. Lots of interactive activities and opportunity to learn about marine life. The play area allows parents to have a cup of coffee while employees help the kids with craft activities. If you live in Cape Town the best option is to take out an annual membership which gives you unlimited access to the aquarium and special member only events. This makes visiting the aquarium often much more affordable.

Very good aquarium. Great exhibits. Just be wary of the jungle gym built within the stairwell. Only one entry and exit and my daughter got stuck at the top. Otherwise very good for children.

I never expected to enjoy it so much with a 20month old. So interactive. The penguin exhibit is a must see. Looking forward to our next family visit. The seafood restaurant inside is still stretching my brain a bit - not sure it is funny or sad. Oh, you can even get a real espresso drink at the giant tank.

Great afternoon for the kids. Pity the predator pool was being refurbished and also that the ticket prices were not adjusted down to cater therefor. Other displays stunning staff friendly and spoke spoke to the kids not down to them.

It's an amazing experience! I have been fortunate to have visited many times. As a teacher I take my class every year and the best part for me is seeing the reaction of children who are visiting for the first time. Besides all the fantastic animals of course! A wonderful learning experience and knowledgeable staff.

Great location, enjoyable attractions. Fun for all.
The Two oceans aquarium is a highly enjoyable attraction to visit. Aquariums generally cater for those of all ages, as the ocean and creatures therein are as wondrous to the old as to the young.
There are some great exhibits spread throughout the aquarium, for example the clown fish exhibit with viewing bubble, or the penguin exhibit.
One of the star attractions is the predator tank, with quite a few sharks, turtles and other large fish. Viewing the tank from all sides and windows is highly recommended. The staff are informative and kind.
When I last visited (January 2015) a new viewing walkway tank/exhibit was still under construction I believe.
The location and ease of access at the waterfront makes for a convenient side trip, but as the aquarium is not a full day excursion, I do find the price for a local student budget to still be slightly prohobitive, but I do appreciate the need to keep the place running.
On that last note however, I may in future obtain a yearly pass, which greatly reduces the cost over multiple trips, even just three in a year would be worth the extra expense versus value for money.
