Took a drive out there, this was the first time with my kids.. and they loved it as much as we did!!
We arrived without a reservation and the restaurant was fully bookedbut they could seat and serve us out on the Patio on the couchesliterally a perfect spot.
We had some wine and a cheese/meat mixed platter. while the kids played out on the junglegym with a view.. and the bird nest. It was incredibly difficult to get them back in the car.
Always find it a bit pricey, but the view and general experience makes it worth the spoil.response / report this review -

Lovely place for lunch (and they do breakfast until 12). Delicious food. Stunning setting. Great service. Cool art/sculptures sprinkled around the place. A lovely little deli/shop. A playground for the little ones. Make a stop here and not just for a wine tasting.

Excellent setting but painfully slow service.
Everything took forever, from getting seated and placing the order to the wait for drinks and then food.
Shame as aside from that it was really good.

Tokara Deli is the more casual arm of Tokara. The views are still great, more kid friendly and the food is still quite delicious. They cater for large tables and their staff handled our gathering expertly. The set menu of R195 included a cheese platter and a main meal. The fish is a must have, burgers are good and the pork belly was not our favourite. However, the overall experience was excellent and would recommend it for people with children.

Tokara have just put their prices up dramatically. The service is still good but the menu is limited and food quality decidedly average. Cellar prices for wine are now too high too - sauvignon blanc R88.00 per bottle with no case discount. 50 meters away in the restaurant the same bottle is R165.00. R87.00 for corkage - this cannot be justified
Locals will stop going and tourists only get ripped off once. Already the South African Wine industry has quite a bad reputation with European Tourists for this very reason. Needless to say none of the 16 locals in our party drank wine. Yet another vineyard to cross off the list of places to go every two weeks or so.response / report this review -

An absolute gem. Beside fantastic breakfast, the decor and art on display is exceptional. One of the best deli's I've visited. It's clean, luxurious, elegant and the perfect Getaway.

Delicious food with a small selection menu. Beautiful views both inside and out. Lots of statues and artwork carefully scattered across the garden. Great for kids!

Nice and quiet spot with tasty wine and good food. Service was very friendly, but table wasn't wiped. After drinks one can have a pleasant walk through the wine yards.

This is a great lunch destination. As it is popular, bookings are essential. The selection of products for sale is impressive. The food is outstanding.

This is PARADISE!!!!! the views are indescribable, the food is AMAZING, their wines are top notch!!!!! Very friendly staff - gosh the ENTIRE place was a VERY PLEASANT experience!!! EVERYONE should visit this place.

We enjoyed a baby shower here. The staff was superb. The food excellent. The scenery beautiful. The shop part sells delicious olive paste. Lovely ambiance. Worth a visit.

Great deli that stocks beautiful fresh loaves of bread, wine, olive oil and gifts. Breakfast and baked goods on menu is divine. View out of this world. Highly recommended.

Love it. Could say stacks about the place but for me it's simple - RELAXING. Jan-Louie the manager and staff are exceptional. Often go there to unwind. Kids get to play outside. I get to chill.

It's was super busy but didn't feel hectic at all. Still relaxed and lovely. Food was really good and coffee was (other than a little hot) pretty decent for a restaurant. Awesome views and lovely walks. I recommend a walk down to the wine tasting venue after lunch if it's not too hot. Phone ahead to see if they have space because the wine tasting gets full.

A beautifully situated delicatessen with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
The breakfast menu is small but sufficient. Although the restaurant and garden are extremely child friendly, the menu doesn't have many options for kids. There are however toys to play with and a great jungle gym with slide and swings.
The decor is also beautiful with high ceilings, glass walls to enjoy the views and modern architecture. A lovely venue for a relaxed breakfast either indoors or on the veranda.response / report this review
