  Very relaxed atmosphere. Cool spot to get out of town for the day. Has all the facilities one requires for a day picnic.

  I been there few times and I loved it overtime I visited there with friend and family.. great place for picnic or day outing.. place to play game, and swim and brai... great place

  this is a lovely spot on the berg river. about 15km before franschoek, it's about forty five minutes' drive from town.
  
  there is plenty of open green lawn with ample shade around the edges. peacocks roam around and there us a great outdoor feel to the place. there are playground slides, swings, merry-go-rounds and jungle gyms scattered around.
  
  there are ample braai spots in a large shaded area, with tables and benches.
  
  the river runs by the bottom, and it is safe for children to swim and walk around, especially in the shallows.

  What a crap place this is and for R60pp one would expect more!! We were a group of friends and family out for the day and just because we were the only people there they decided to lock the toilets closest to us and only let us use the toilets which is surrounded by peacocks!! We couldn't play our music from a cell phone cos apparently the owners could here it from the house which was about 2km away from where we were sitting... we asked to hire a table and they charged R60 for a Damn door!!! And exactly an hour from then they asked for it back cos they had to lock up but the place was still open.... I will never go there again... not worth the money at all. Actually a complete rip off if u ask me

  For the price one would expect more! However if you like a tranquil setting and enjoy a natural picnic the price should not bother you to much. Otherwise we'll maintained and clean.

  The place itself is beautiful. Love swimming in the cool river water. Staff are friendly. Toilets are clean. BUT!!!!! Why on earth do u allow people to bring bucket loads of alcohol to the place. Was there yesterday and left before 1 because we were sitting on the river bank and had to contend with a bunch of piss drunk people swearing ma se and n and throwing each other into the water. Standing by the water with big brown bottles of beer. Playing music (horrible music) so loud. And i was very irritated having to pick up shards of broken beer bottle glass everywhere. Im sorry but i wont be going back there anytime soon. Im not a snob. I would've liked an ice cold beer myself but the way those peeps were carrying on??? Like i said, 5 stars for the place itself but no stars because its like a glorified shebeen.
