Pizza is horrible. Not in anyway authentic or tasty. Definitely more of a pub than a dining experience.
Extremely nice restuarant in the quaint town of Bathurst. We had a breakfast there and was just enough to make us happy. Lovely atmosphere as well with a lot of history behind the name 😊😊
I have had a few beers and meals in this pub and restaurant over the years. They now also boast with a whiskey corner. This is the oldest running pub in South Africa. May she live long :)
Food and tea were served quickly. Waitress could go to bed earlier so that she is more alert and attentive, hence no tip today!
A great old pub with real character, the superior room we stayed in was gorgeous. All round great atmosphere great people and great food
The people in this place make it what it is, a truly welcoming and friendly historic country pub. Dominates the Bathurst region and well worth a breakfast lunch, dinner or just a good old knees up.
Wonderful experience in the countryside. Good food and craft beer served here.
Food and service is excellent. The place is also very charming
We were so comfortable and will recommend you to anyone who asks us
I asked for chicken salad as I don't eat bread. The chicken was very good but the lettuce was a mush, wet with a thick dressing + croutons. No salad really.
Stars on my salad? I love the Pig and for my salad a star for the chicken.
Plain food, but a great atmosphere. Parts of it run down. Food was good for the price. The historic nature of the place and friendly staff make it worthwhile.
Good pub grub at a great price, come have a drink at the longest continuously licensed pub in South Africa (no thirst like Bathurst!)
It's a well known pub in a cool location. Unfortunately the food is below standard. The pot pies have puff pastry scattered over the top in pieces. Poor show. I had the schnitzel which was barely crumbed. Won't be back.
If you need some much needed rest and relaxation this is the place to be. Beautiful clean rooms and bathrooms. Lovely atmosphere and the friendliest people, owners and staff. Definite recharge your batteries place to be.
No one drives through Bathurst without a stop at the Pig and Whistle. The beer was cold, 'nuf said.Steeped in history. Loved it.
