  Extremely friendly staff, and a head chef that's got his talent mastered. The lodge is located in a picture perfect setting. I would highly recommend the lodge.

  A real gem in the bush. Nice accommodation, food and especially the ranger tours around the reserve. We have been here in the middle of November and saw so many different animals.

  If you want true relaxation, good game sightings and an awesome African experience, this is the place to be. You will be completely pampered from the minute you arrive. From then, your schedule will be: eat, sleep, game drive - repeat. :) The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms, which are located in well isolated tents, are big and well equipped. There is no WiFi connection, but you will not miss that over here. Everything was simply perfect. The meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner - have all been very good and classy. And not to forget the game drives in Madikwe. With our ranger Duncan we have seen the entire Big 5 (including black rhino) in just 1 day. If I had to say one negative thing about this place, it would be the road leading to it. But hey, it is worth it!

  Lovely tented camp facing the Marico River. The food, service and accommodation were all good. Our field guide, Patience, was very good and found us the big five plus wild dogs.

  We stayed here for three nights earlier this month.
  
  The staff were friendly, helpful, and generous with their time and knowledge.
  
  Madikwe itself was an impressive place for us to start our first African safari. We saw four of the big five (Lion, Elephant, Rhinoceros, and Buffalo, but we didn't see any Leopard, although there are some in the reserve), and many other animals (Cheetah, Zebra, Giraffe, Impala, Kudu, Water Buck, Bush Buck, Wildebeest, Hartebeest, Warthog, Spotted Hyena, Brown Hyena, Black Back Jackal, Banded Mongoose, and more), and also many birds. In fact, we saw more game here than any other reserve we visited.
  
  We tracked Wild Dogs, but unfortunately only got to see some kept in an enclosure on the reserve. Nonetheless, this was thoroughly enjoyable.
  
  Our driver/guide at Thakadu (Jerry) was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and accomodating. The vehicle seemed to be in good condition and was relatively comfortable.
  
  The restaurant was really good - we ate like kings while we were there!
  
  The accomodation itself is tents, but there are semi permanent, timer floored, full bathroom tents. The bed was hugs and comfortable, and the tents each had a private balcony overlooking the river.
  
  We were there at the beginning of June, and it did get cold in the tent at night, but we were still comfortable.
  
  It isn't too far from Gaborone (Botswana - just over the border), and a few hours drive from Pretoria.
  
  I think this place is really good value, and I would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arose.

  We went to Thakadu for two nights and enjoyed the great safari drives and the friendly staff. We saw the big five and also cheetahs. This place is highly recommended,
