  In general my stay was okay here. Would only recommend for a short stay, read the other reviews that pretty much explains it all. Also it’s absolutely not worth the hassle you have to go through to get your deposit back. I took 3 months going back and forward. Finally received it after threatening to take further action. Utterly disappointed in this organisation would absolutely not recommend staying here! Very unprofessional.

  I’m going to be as honest as I possibly can.
  
  This is all the good:
  -quiet -clean -safe environment -center of the city - 24hr security
  -rooms look good
  -fully furnished
  
  This is all the bad:
  You pay for Everything, laundry, gym, having a person sleep over, literally everything.
  - the rooms are extremely small for the very high prices. Literally half the size of a normal bedroom.
  - you are only allowed one visitor so if you have 2 friends, only one can come in.
  - you’re only allowed to have an overnight visitor 4 times a month, if you have a girlfriend or a wife you’re going to have to pay R250 per night they are here.
  - if you want a sleepover you need to ask for one from the management vi WhatsApp before 9pm, if something happens and you need to get a sleepover after 9pm you still have to pay R250 even if you still have your 4 free one’s.
  -laundry cost R20 per load so R40 to wash and dry.
  -no noise whatsoever is allowed. Security calls and asks you to lower volume of your speaker, tv or keep your voice down while on the phone.
  -only one visitor may be in your room at any time, if you have visitors from other rooms security calls and asks you them to leave.
  -rooms are separated by cardboard not brick walls, you can hear your neighbours banging on a wall or speaking to a phone.
  -alcohol isn’t allowed in the building or your rooms
  -smoking is allowed at smoking area that closes at 10pm
  -no hookah pipe is allowed anywhere in the building
  - there are no communal areas so if you are social person the building is really really really boring.
  
  Overall view:
  This place is great if you are here for a short bnb stay(month or less) as all the consume rules won’t really affect you as much. To be honest I have no idea why they don’t turn the whole building into a air bnb and insist on having students, there’s no way students comfortably live with rules wayyy stricter than back at home or a normal university residence for

  I recommend Student at Home because of its value for money. The rent is inclusive of a fully furnished apartment with DTSV and WiFi as well as a monthly cleaning service and 24/7 security. It is also located in the city centre where you have quick access to public transport, shopping centre's and many restaurants. You will come for the convenience and stay for the hospitality.

  Great accommodation to live in for students. It is safe and the security here is friendly. The wifi works great. My room was very clean and very similar to the pictures on the internet. We had a problem with a leaking fridge and the company let it fix it within an hour or so, which was great.
  
  I was a bit worried to stay here after reading all the negative reviews here. But I cannot complain. Everything is great here.

  I have lived at 106 adderley since January 2020, and this place is really home away from home. Staff are friendly, service and responses are prompt.
  
  Always a friendly face, and if you need assistance they are always ready to assist.
  
  Student at Home is an exceptional place to stay, it's within walking distance from many shops, transportation and it's really very convenient.
  
  Definitely would recommend. Perfect for student living, but they do cater to other accommodation needs as well.
