Absolutely rude and disgusting attitude from the ladies that are supposed to issue your drivers - making remarks and jokes amongst themselves as soon as they think you are out of earshot. Worst experience from a government entity besides Bellville Home Affairs. Would suggest going to another district!
I received a speeding fine in February 2020 while driving German tourists around to show them the beautiful Cape Winelands ( but apparently not so friendly Stellenbosch Traffic Dept) I contacted them and asked for a reduction. On July 16, I paid the full amount of R580 at a time where my income dropped with 95%. On October 10 a car stops at my front gate in Durbanville, handing me a "Summons in a criminal case". I am referred to as "the accused" . Why did they not first contact me to make sure whether the money was paid or not? This is really unacceptable and typical of the Big Brother mentality in SA. I feel I should take them to court for referring to me as "The accused" as it makes me feel rather "dirty", being a law abiding citizen
Been in queue for 30minutes, no movement what so ever! Lady in front of me been sitting in same position in queue for an hour. After an hour I was finally inside, just to join another queue. Processing inside is faster but still slow. I spent a little more than 3hours here. Staff is friendly and sufficient workers.
Do not answer the phone. Once you get through do not provide feedback on queries, do not call back. Totally unresponsive up the public which they are supposed to serve
I went to renew my drivers license.
It took me 3 tries to realize I would have to take a day off work to get it done. They process 5 people an hour. 5!
At 8am there are 40 people in the queue.
People start queuing at 6am and leave at 12pm. They then conveniently start showing people away at 14:30.
Take a chair, make sure your phone is charged, bring water and food. It’s going to be along day.
Bring your ID, drivers license if you still have it, two photos and proof of address.
Don’t bother if one of those docs is missing.
Honestly the best traffic department I had to deal with. You wait quite a bit, but it is because they are understaffed. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Sat still for half an hour because there were no one actually doing the test. This was after waiting an hour. Is there anyone out there that can make a difference to this shocking service delivery?
No one there cares how long you have to wait and no one wants to help with a simple question! Everybody acts like they are doung you a favour by actually speaking and then it is in a Very sarcastic bitchy way. It's pathetic and horrible!
The automatic system providing numbers for queuing really helps a lot while waiting. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The wait is usually long even if there is not a lot of people there but they are efficient and helpful.
Doesn't deserve one star. State of the art system, but seviced with supreme incompetence.
Collected my Drivers License. It took me less than 5 minutes. The ladies at the desk were friendly and efficient.
Electronic ticket system is always unplugged. You have to stand in the queue to get a number to go to actual queue. Forms are also only kept behind receptionist's desk, unlike any other branch I've visited. I suggest you find these online (or at another branch) and print them out before going there. Took me more than five days and over twenty hours to get a roadworthy and change of ownership done (no problems with car, everything passed first time; just lousy service).
Terrible service. It can literally can take more than four hours to get served. All the while the staff are in no hurry to get things done.
How many cashiers do they have again? It takes ages before being helped. Friendly staff though
Friendly service, but very, very slow.
