Picnic site permanatly closed as is all picnic sights operated by KNP Sanpark. There is no notice board up at the gate just closed without any communication. Contacted Skukuza Camp Manager and was informed that indeed all Sanpark operated picnic site are closed due to inability to operated.
We were advised to go picnic at privately managed Afsaal or Nkululu as they are the only ones functionally operational in the arearesponse / report this review -

Great picnic spot! Found a quiet spot away from the crowds down the river. Will definitely stop here again.

What a great place. Maintained swimming pool, ablutions and shady picnic areas outside of the pool. Plenty of parking and attendant staff. We had a day searching this area after 20 years away in the Southern Cape. This centre is outside of Skukuza camp but very easy to get to. About 5min ride.

Great place to relax and chill in the pool. Hire a clean gas braai for about 20 buck's when you done they clean it. charcoal braai is free electric stove and hot water for coffee is free. Picnic area is nice and clean.

Day visit area with 2 swimming pools. one for the kids, small kids, and the other for adults. very clean but you pay to get to the swimming pools. you can bring and braai for free.
