A beautiful Hotel set in a beautiful, lush, green environment. I had a meeting at the hotel this morning and would recommend it as a place to stay without a doubt if you are travelling this side. With an 18 hole championship golden course on its doorstep, this hotel has plenty to offer.

+ beautiful surrounding & lovely ambience
+ Very friendly and helpful staff

    - plumbing in room malfunctioning and even after two complaints wasn't fixed. Toilet running continuously.
    - limited menu choices in restaurant
    - seems to be understaffed: overall facities could be cleaner. Mold on bathroom ceiling
    - if you sit down in the lobby there is no such thing as someone coming to take orders. You have to find someone and ask to be served

Overall pleasant experience and value for money. Given the negatives would rate it more a 3* hotel

One of the most beautiful golf courses we have in this country. To walk it requires more than just fitness. You either going up or down. It's very easy to lie 2 on the green. If you good in negotiating with the wind, that can add some advantage, you can attempt several good pars. The greens, definitely not those of Pretoria, will humble you. It's important to land closer to the pin or you'll pay for not doing that.

Welcomed with smiles and a quick check in. Walked the Estate, such beauty all around. Dinner was a Wow. Steak cooked to perfection, even well done, juicy and tender. Didn't wait long for our dinner. Staff were all friendly, well dressed and on the ball. Bedrooms are neat and tidy and the bed (if I could would come home with me) was very comfortable, no hip problems this morning :). Can't wait to spend another day here. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a beautiful memory. I will recommend Selborne Hotel to friends and family.

We celebrated our Golden Wedding at the hotel yesterday. Management and staff went all out to make our day special together with an excellent meal at the Lord Selborne restaurant. Big thanks to all. Highest recommendation Brenda and Harold 😙😀

A return to the quiet and tranquility of the old Natal south coast. Only a quick drive away from Durban (unless you take in the ocean views of the "old road") Selbourne was a perfect weekend qettaway. The spa is top quality and the staff are professional. Although the hotel rooms are showing signs of age, they are still above average. Best of all the beds and pillows are super comfortable. The staff are also very efficient and friendly. Look out for weekend packages. We had a 4 star experience at B+B rates on a Saturday night. Will definitely return.

Great golf course but unfortunately very poor golf experience. On arrival the golf carts booked were not available for starters. A plan was made eventually. Tee-off time 12h30, started about 20 mins late. Then the field was so crammed-in with players that the 1st 9 took more than 3 hours. The play was so slow we eventually abandoned the game at the 12th where 4 x 4 balls were playing the hole. 20 mins+ per hole. No marshall in sight. No drinks on the course. The course is a money making facility marketing tool only. Hill billies in charge. Stay away on a public holiday.

    Loved the location
Loved the rooms and the bathroom was large and we stayed in the small rooms.
The weekend breakfasts are a very good buffet,
The weekdays breakfast are ordered of a menu but nether less very good.

Dinner in the restaurant has a limited menu but was very good.

So we're there small issues, yes
The air-conditioning didn't work as the battery was flat on the remote . But the friendly staff sorted it.
This is a different environment and we loved it.

    Gladly go back

Absolutely gorgeous place, perfect for a relaxing getaway for adults. Not an environment for kids. The grounds are neat and tidy, the place is immaculate. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious with a nice variety. My favorite part of the trip was the chocolate treats before bedtime.
The hotel spa staff are extremely professional.

Would highly recommend this place for a relaxing weekend way with your significant other.
