Our experience at Seagull Holiday Flats was extremely disappointing. We booked a flat for 4 adults and 2 kids under 12. To begin with, during the process of the booking, the staff member namely: Susan whom we dealt with proved to be unwilling to assist and rude on telephone calls. Upon arrival at the flats we were met with the flat manager who was also rude to us. Whilst unpacking our car, he made a very insulting remark asking "How many people are going to be staying there". This question being asked to us after making a booking for 6 people. Why would someone ask a question like this? Do you judge us based on the colour of our skin?

The flat had an uncomfortable odour when we entered. We had booked accommodation there for 1 week. We had 1 family of 4 people and another family of 2 people, therefore we had 2 vehicles. We were asked to pay for parking for the second vehicle even though the vehicle was parked in the same place. I have been to many other resorts and holiday flats and never once were we asked to pay extra for parking at the venue.

There was a list in the flat with prices of the cutlery and crockery should it be broken. We had 2 glasses that broke. The price on the list stated R10 per glass. When we were checking out, Susan very abruptly stated that the price for the glasses were R15 each. I then asked her if the prices in the flats were incorrect to which she responded that they were correct. She then very rudely stated that we could pay R10 per glass. Is this a way of getting more money out of your clients.

We then had issues with the manager with regards to getting permits. He gave us attitude on that as well.

The physical and verbal mannerisms of the staff was appalling. We will never again book at Seagull Holiday Flats and will never recommend them to anyone because we do not want them to feel as uncomfortable as we did.

No one should ever have to pay such a huge amount of money to stay somewhere only to be made to feel out of place and unwanted.
