I visited doctor S R Naidoo situated in the plaza, next to a shop called Shortys
on Thursday 17 September 2020 to do cleaning on my Medical Aid. I was told I had a cavity, When the cleaning was done, the dentist was explaining my options to me, and the owner *Doctor S R Naidu* told the dentist that she should " let me know my options, sort me out and move on because Discovery Keycare is a basic Medical Aid " and she should not waste time with me and that she is taking too long with each patient, i didn't realise i wasn't as important as his other patients because i have a standard medical aid. It's unfair and wrong to treat people differently according to their medical aid scheme.
I was told I needed to do temporary filling. Which was done for me and I was only informed when I was leaving that I needed to pay cash for the temporary filling. The filling was suppose to stay on for around 6 to 8 weeks.
The temporary filling fell out 3 days later on Sunday 20 September 2020. I informed the dentist and made an appointment for Tuesday 22 September 2020, my daughter also needed to see the dentist and getting leave is extremely difficult. We both left work at 11:30 for our appointment at 12:30 and 13:45 , we was at the dentist at 12:30.
We was told to wait from 12:30 to 13:30 to be treated for the first appointment because they are very busy and they have alot of appointments. So making an appointment to go in was completely unnecessary, since they didn't follow appointment times. It's understandable if the practice is busy, then they shouldn't book so many patients.
We left and the receptionist told us that we must call before we come in. We called at 13:23 to advise her that we were coming in, and she told us that they are very busy and even if we come in now we would have to still and wait to be seen to. We explained to her that we are unable to come another day, she then told us to come in at 16:00. We disagreed and she then asked us to come in at 15:45.
We reached at 15:30,
While my daughter and I were waiting, the ladies that work there were staring and speaking about us. Which was made very obvious. It is extremely unprofessional to gossip about patients.
We got seen to at 16:30. 1 hour later.
I hadn't eaten anything and At 17:30 as i reached home, my filling fell out again. Exactly 1 hour later. And for the second time.
We called the dentist and spoke to Veloshnie and all she could say was that she was sorry, we then asked what we should do now and she said I need to come back to the dentist. She suggested an appointment at 16:15 on the 23 of September as i only finish work at 16:00. I am extremely disappointed at the treatment i received and felt that i was not important enough to be treated as a priority patient and that the staff including Dr S R Naidu gave more priority to patients that had medical aids that were higher paying than Keycare. Patients should not be looked down on based on the type of medical aid one can afford. I am left back at square one with a tooth that needs attention. It is a shame to see this type of unprofessional behaviour. The receptionist should be trained as she is the face of the practice and she clearly does not know how to book and manage appointments. People should not chose dentistry if this is the way they behave once their practices are established.
Im from chatsworth. Back in 2004 i visited this dentist to put gold in my teeth. Never regretted it.To this dentist im glad u still around. If i wasnt so far i wouldve came back to get my teeth sorted outVarsha Mahabeer
Was asked to leave by Dr Naidu. In his words We don't need your money, take your child to another dentist. She's a 6 year old She will be scared. This is her 3 extraction and we have never had this problem. They are unfriendly and have open working space. She was already shocked seeing other patients there. They about to start and the female doc doing the extractions calls her assistants and 6 ladies including the reception comes over they start to hold her legs and hands down. She obviously is going to scream. No talking with care or anything. According to Naidu that's the procedure with children. Absolutely terrible service. Pathetic for a doc and to say to me take your child we don't need your money is just something else. I'm appalled at the attitude and behavior. Worse experience ever Now my child is going to suffer with a tooth ache and she's now afraid of the dentist.
Definitely will be going backfriendly staff especially Mrs S Naidu who makes it a pleasant one. The reason I keep coming back 😉😁
Poor service, people that came after us were seen to first, when questioned about this the receptionist said that they were evening out the queue which made no sense as we waited for hours. The service used to be good not anymore.
Pathetic dentist, been to the rooms on Saturday 13th January 2018 at 8.45, waited 2 hours only to see people coming after me being attended to before me. I queried why and was told filing is not a serious matter and need to wait a further 5 patients before being attended to.
Friendly team , great service , skilled Doctors
Great staff. Always professional, friendly and caring 🙂
I've never had any problem with their service and the staff are always cheerful and smiling.
Spoke to the receptionist Viloshni on the 1st August 2017 to book an appointment. I was assured a call back to confirm. Today is the 3rd August and she still hasn't called. Shocking service especially from a Medical Practice.
