It's a basic Pick n Pay. No amazing customer service, nothing special. The liquor store is exactly like the main store; basic.

Great place to shop. With ample parking. Prices may be high but it's away from people that don't buy anything. So all the walkers and turners are not here due to the high prices. But it's peaceful.

It was disturbing, there was an advertised special for R105. 00 (potatoes; butternut n onions) which started on da 19th n will be ending on da 24th Amazingly da store had piles of butternut n onions but potatoes where out of stock and when enquiring from staff it was shared to me that staff were advised in the morning that a bag of potatoes is R17 n so staff were taking about 5 bags each n so the stock was finished I den went n enquired to an Indian gentleman that showed no interest in what I was enquiring about I only needed to know on why they had the board advertising da special if they were out of stock He didn't care n just continued packing vegetables on shelves I asked if he would call da store manager for me n he said I must look in da front This puzzled me n I asked where exactly in da front, he said I must check myself Now this irritated me as dis staff member was able to acknowledge Indian customers around while I was talking to him I went to da cashiers n requested to see da store manager, da lady called a lady supervisor whom also directed me to gentleman supervisor, I also was puzzled dat no one is interested to hear me even though dey did not know what I needed I spoke to da gentleman whom advised me his surname was Adams, he then listened n de after said dey were out of stock n my concern was dat da advert was still on but no stock, Mr Adams left n on his way turned back n said I will check. I followed him n he spoke to da 1st gentleman whom was packing vegetables n de after dey both went to stockroom n came back to advise dat they were out of stock.
This is not what I would have expected from Mr Adams as a supervisor, I would have expected him talk to me n not just leave while talking to me
I still enquired on why dey had da posters advertising a special if dey were out of stock n I tried to reason with him dat it does not make sense dat the onion n butternut were in piles with no potatoes, to me it meant dat de was no balancing on stock order to accommodate da special n dat it is only da 20th n the special had started on da 19th n is meant to finish on da 24th He just ignored me n started a conversation with someone else
I den started talking loud to show dat I was irritated by his behavior of not giving me his attention n immediately Mr Vernon came n enquired on what was da issue n yes Vernon was professional n he did apologize n I accepted his apology n I explained dat I felt small as da Mr Adams showed no respect to me n dat I felt dat he didn't take me serious because I'm black as he kept acknowledging India customers while I was talking to him
Mr Vernon was professional n he did remove da adverts in my presence My argument was mis-advertising to da public n not acknowledging da mistake
Why sell stock all to staff, I kept enquiring as staff kept passing with bags of potatoes dat were meant to be on special to da public
I feel dat da special should have been advertised for staff at da back office n not to us( customers)

The overall service was average as Mr Vernon n da cashier were professional

They need to get rid of that stupid buzzer system that they have when you exit after shopping. Been stopped twice in two weeks by their security, requesting my till slip only to find nothing wrong. Very very embarrassing. They are going to chase alot of customers away. Not impressed at all. Don't think I'll be going back there. It seems like they don't value their customers.
