Great small nature reserve for a short hike or just a Braai with family and friends.
    Nice education facilities for schools.
Aviary is currently empty, and awaiting funding for rebuilding.

This is a small municipal run nature reserve that is beautifully quiet. If you are silent you can see the rare blue duiker here among other animals. The walks are not hectic and they take you through riverine bush and grasslands . There is a lovely hide that is an ideal place to see birdlife on the water.

Short, silent and scenic, this quaint little reserve is one of my personal favourites. Perfect for those who are bird watchers.

Great little reserve in the middle of suburbia.
    Various trails, all pretty easy.
Make sure to visit the Aviary, where you can walk amongst the birds.
Some interesting snakes to see in the main office.
