  We went there for our pre Cape Town Cycle Tour steak. I had the springbok which was tender and delicious- (the onion rings over it were divine). The others had sirloin. All were delicious and cooked to our specifications. The add ons are basic, but you’re really there for the steak,so, hey?

  If you're a steak lover than this is definitely the place for you. The food is excellent. The restaurant seating can be described as a bit tight. The waitresses are great and friendly.

  A stake house. The service is good but fishing for tips a bit too much. Not a place to have your vegetarian friends accompany you to! Everyone agreed on the great flavor of the meats. Side dishes & vegetarian meal however lake flavor and thus seem overpriced.

  Absolutely nice restaurant. We was there with our 8 month old child and all guys was so lovely to him. The food and service was excellent and next time in Capetown we come defently back.

  Great place to have meat. They serve beef, springbok and ostrich. Cozy and simple venue, nice service. Food was great! Nothing really to complain 😉

  The preparation and cooking of the meat was just right...
  Personally preferred the traditional grill over flambed.

  Best steakhouse in South Africa. You get what you pay for, and their service is excellent as well! I found the standard Rump steak to be an excellent choice!

  We had a fantastic experience. The steak was brilliant, and the decor was very pleasant. Having Lord Nelson himself looking at me from the walls really made me appreciate my limbs a lot more.

  Old style homely decor and good service but the sirloin and ribs, albeit large, did not live up to expectations or reputation. No problem, just routine for a steak place. An enjoyable but average meal. Also "it's the rule" to automatically add 10% gratuity for 6 or more guests...??

  Old school style looking steak house has a slight dated feel about the place but that is part of the charm, the place was busy and seemed to bevery popular with locals and tourists a like so i would recommend booking. The steaks cooked pefectly the Nelsons eye also has good wine selection, i for 1 would return again.

  A must visit steakhouse ! Pork ribs here are moist , tender, and fall off the bone. Great quality . Not too saucy and tastes just right. The atmosphere is cosy and has a vintage style setting. Great selection of wines. Staff is very welcoming and friendly.

  Best meal in Cape town and SA. Travel to US and all over and Nelson's eye is mile ahead with their food preparation and flavour. Whoever did not enjoy a meal here don't know their meat. If you want a Man size meal this is a must when in Cape Town. Ask for Tony and he will prepare you meat better than you can imagine. Really good value for money and good variety of wines and the service is over the moon

  Quite a disappointment... We rushed there after reading enthusiastic reviews, the atmosphere was rather cold and the food was far from the quality we expected. The steaks, the house specialty clearly lacked flavour and tenderness. The prices, however, were quite high.

  Most amazing steaks I've ever had, with an atmosphere to boot. Small individual seating rooms make for cozy setting. Very good wine selection.
