One of my favorite places to visit in Bloemfontain. The museum is slowly upgrading displays. Make sure to check out the upgraded anthropology display especially the history of early tools. The mammal curator is extremely knowledgeable and provides a very educational overview.
Excellent, brilliantly displayed, well informed caring staff.
Rich history of Bloemfontein and exhibitions that are exhibited well. Batho Community History Project about the oldest surviving township in Bloemfontein.
Awesome place to go when you have time. Everything is kept is good condition and there's a wide variety of things
Right in the city centre. It's a good place place to just randomly decide to go to as your added activity on your to-do list. Just bear in mind that there's no parking. You park on the road and the chances of you finding a good parking space are like finding Spur Ribs in Nandos. My friend and I decided to park somewhere else and go to the museum on foot. Was pretty awesome though.
Very clean and well maintained.
They have good experience when it comes to their history
Nice viewing place and good for children from young age.
I enjoyed the museum and the various exhibits, especially the solar system display, and upstairs "old town" displays.
I was happy to see that the displays were explained in. Few different languages, however I was left a little confused as to why so many of the braille plaques were behind glass, with no way of being felt by a blind visitor - it is possible that I missed something and that a representative from the museum may accompany you on a tour, however I didn't see any signage or information that would suggest this.
An excellent place to visit.
Friendly staff.
Informative and interesting day out with kids.
Well looked after and a huge variety of displays.
Loved this part of the museum was like being time warped back the late 1890 -1900 very cool the rest off the museum was also nice
Friendly staff. The museum has added a few interesting exhibits during the past few years. If you have about 90 minutes to spare it's worth checking out.
