Awesome "resort". If you love nature (forest, swamp, bush, beach, dunes and trails) then this is the perfect place for you. Loved our weekend there. Trails are awesome, beach secluded and unspoilt, tranquil and peaceful. Swimminpool a treat for the kids, chalets privately nestled inbetween the bush and forest. I'll go back any day.

Rustic getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Untainted beaches a stroll away.

Amazing location unspoiled and tranquil. Short distance from the beach with beautiful walks through the indigenous forest. Cabins themselves were very clean but are in serious need of some maintenance. Made extensive use of the onsite pool. The age of infrastructure and amenities is clear though and needs some maintenance.

Very nice self-catering place within the coastal forest. Fully equipped wooden huts with a lot of distance in between to keep one's privacy. A narrow footpath leads to the dunes and the endless sandy beach. A perfect place to come down from the daily hectic.

Me and my Family was there for last Saturday 30/9/2017 from 15h00 to Sunday 10h00.
It wasn't plan. When I saw the Lodge , just there and then I told my wife and triplets that I'm not going home and want to stay for the night.
We saw a lot of wildlife and the beaches is nice and clean.
We where actually very lucky, I payed for a 4 sleeper but was offered a six sleeper for the same price.
The area and Place where we stayed over was very clean and nice.
Also the service at the reception was 100% , all the staff was friendly.

    Thank you Mtunzini Forest Lodge.
You guys will see the Vuyk Family from Richards again and this time it wil be for a week or more.

It is the break we all needed. It was quiet and the staff were very accommodating us with last minute changes of cabin as my hubby was on crutches and struggled with the stairs. Wonderful scenic route to the beach🌴

This lodge had been on our bucket list for a while (can't get better than trees and the beach) but we had never visited before due the cost factor. When we were awarded a couple of travelling vouchers, we finally made our booking and what a delight it was!

The staff were super friendly and greeted us with happy smiles, despite it being a sweltering 37 degrees. After a short drive through the very secure and well maintained property we arrived at our cabin - perfectly hidden from the road and other units amongst the trees and bushes.

The wooden cabin is exactly what you would hope to find in such a natural setting - nothing fancy but with everything you need. We were most impressed that the kitchen even had a colander! There were beautiful red flowers placed on the beds and in the kitchen - such a lovely touch.

The lounge had comfortable couches and a tv with full dstv (if you needed it) and opened onto the wooden deck with a bench set. The main bedroom also opened onto the deck and enjoyed the same view - just trees and bush, wonderful for the soul.

We loved that you could stand in the shower and feel like you were outside with the branches so close you could hang your face-cloth on them.

The second bedroom also had a double bed and cupboards but was much darker than the main bedroom. All the windows had gauze coverings so you could leave them open the entire time without worrying about mosquitoes and bugs crawling in to come cuddle up with you.

We thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the communal pool (we would highly recommend a night swim, the water is lovely and warm from the pool being in the sun all day) , taking walks in the forest and to the private beach (less than half a kilometer from the cabins), sitting on the deck listening to the birds and sea (yes you can hear it from the deck even though it is over the dunes) and watching butterflies flit past.

The only not so great features are:
The deck is not covered so when it rains, you unfortunately have to sit inside

The outdoor bench and table is not comfortable at all! It definitely needs some cushions or even better, a couple of camper chairs for those who enjoy being outdoors.

This place is great! We come here every year. It is safe and quiet. The cabins are small and cosy and have just the necessary things to keep you going. Staff are friendly. Not your typical beach holiday with luxury apartments. This is something special for a special kind of person. Loads of forest paths to walk or cycle.

Amazing place, Feels like being in the middle of the forest away from civilization. Great trek to the beach with scenic views. Situated on the edge of a lovely little town with access to supermarkets. Will definitely return

Most horrible holiday ever. Extremely hot in the cabins, ceiling fans not helping at all. No accessible sockets for hair dryers in rooms. No easy access to the beach! Please this is NOT a beach holiday. 4-sleepers also have up to 39 stairs to climb. I would not recommend this at all.
