Beautiful resort located in a natural rainforest and abundant wildlife. Very friendly staff that is helpful. Although the access road pass through the forestry grounds, it is not as bad as some other roads. A sedan can be used to navigate it. Spectacular views from the various hiking trails available. Trails range from moderate to difficult. Other amenities included a swimming pool, games room and fly fishing.
In all honesty I have never had the luxury to stay over a night at Mount Sheba, but I have eaten there and had relatives stay over and they had nothing terrible to say, but the main reason we visit, whenever we are in the vicinity is do their stunning trails, If one is fortunate and there is a lot of mist in the air, you almost feel that you are submerged into a magical garden of Eden. The trails are well demarcated and range in degrees of difficulty. Day visitors are most welcome.
You will need a SUV or 4x4 to get there comfortably the roads are in a shocking state. The hotel was just okay at best, there are a few simple things that could have been done better - locks on toilet / bathroom doors, clean cutlery / dining plates / cups, tastier food, and slightly more livelier or friendlier staff. (There are self catering units that may be a better option). There was a dartboard without darts and a pool table with unplayable equipment. The positives were, its a beautiful peaceful mosquito free setting. The many hiking trails were not too testing (about 200m elevations) and the views were gorgeous. Be prepared for indoor activities when it becomes misty. A few board games are available at reception. WiFi was free and worked better in certain areas. There was DSTV with limited channels.
We went out just for their hiking trails and we didn't actually stay at the lodge. My initial impression is good. The place is clean and quite perfect for relaxing and winding away it is perfectly isolated at the beautiful Mount Sheba. They have plenty of hiking trails for the adventurous. My only gripe with the place is the road used to get here it's a very very very bad gravel road not suited for low riding cars another thing is they only have one swimming pool and it's not a heated pool.
Beautiful setting with stunning views. Walking trails are great with beautiful waterfall stops. Helpful staff are very friendly. Restaurant not too great however.
Beautiful setting in the mountains. Cozy rooms with fire place for the cold winter nights
Awesome place
..spent a week in cottage 4 and ate most meals at restaurantslots to do and see in and aroundstaff are great and service was aweaome!!!
Polite and helpful staff. Exhaustive choice for breakfast, including eggs, beacon. Overall nice accommodation: wifi, european power adapters, fireplace with complementary wood and a nice swimming pool.
We loved our weekend visit. Staff were welcoming and attentive. The chalet was wonderfully equipped, clean, quite luxurious. The walks in the indigenous forest are outstanding - well maintained and clearly marked paths through the most beautiful trees and plants. The only downer was the terrible service and food at the restaurant on Sunday evening. Such a let down given the other rave reviews posted here about the food - can't believe we paid so much for such poor quality. Perhaps the chef had an off night Apart from that, this was a fabulous visit and we'd definitely come again and bring friends.
Was really not impressed ,no wifi in suite 3 , only 3 channels on the tv one afrikaans and two sport channels,at the restaurant they only had 2 white wines available out of a selection of about 10 , service was slow and forgot to bring water etc. Please get someone more capable to answer the phone , i had to repeat my name and number about 5 times, tried to make a booking to pay on arrival the previous day , he said he would get back to me and no one phoned back to confirm if it was allowed. Did not have a good experience sorry , beds are comfortable. Its oke but not more
Helpfull staff!! What a pleasure to be so well taken care of!
Beautiful lodge. Walking trails are the highlight here without a doubt.
One of my favourite places in the world. I've been coming here for 27 consecutive years, and I'll keep doing it for as long as I can. Absolutely the most tranquil place to come unwind.
