About Us

Misty River is part of the original farm Eikenhof founded by the owners’ great grandfather Christiaan Ludolph Neethling in 1875. The Misty River farmhouse was built in 1919 and restored to it’s formal glory in 1997. The century old oak trees, with the large Klipriver berg mountain towering above form an ideal backdrop for any great event or party.

I can't fault the venue. The atmosphere was acceptable and so was the food. As this was early Spring, the garden was not in the best shape.

Not the best B&B I've stayed in. For a self catering unit I would at least expect a kettle and coffee cups.. There was exactly one towel for 4 of us. The staff was extremely loud at night. I would not recommend a Mom driving out there alone at night. I did not feel very safe driving there. Had to watch out for the dog poo on the grass when walking to our unit. Pictures on the website is not the real deal. General maintenance not very good.
Al least we slept in a nice warm room and the linen was clean. I would how ever never book there again.

An ok wedding venue A bit disappointing about all the goose droppings towards the pond Such a pretty place to take pics but have to keep on avoiding landmines

It's a moderate facility with accommodation that is moderate. Can cater for single to a large family. Large garden for events and weddings. Not too bad for wedding photography but not a good choice either. Has large pool for the hot summer days and it's kids friendly.
