It is a well kept park. A lovely place for children to play or to take your dogs for a walk. There are jungle gyms and swings, benches and tables and plenty of big trees to sit underneath for shade. Our favourite spot for a Sunday picnic.

Awesome park to chill, walk your dog and pretty much anything. With a small river at the bottom of the park. Lots of fun

Wonderful place to take your dogs. As this is a dog park your pups can run around without leads. Obviously they need to be socialised.

Memorial Park is possibly the one and only public place in the greater Durban area that sports a no-leash policy for dogs. Upwards of 50 canines can be found romping around the park on weekends, with early mornings and late afternoons popular all week through. This is the ultimate spot for puppy socialization the way it's supposed be - all natural. With the exception of ablution facilities, the park has everything for the family outing; vast lawns fringed with natural habitat, a stunning clean stream as well as braai facilities, swings and a jungle gym. The locals are friendly and welcoming - this is a 'must visit' for dog lovers.. just don't bring your dog if he/she is aggressive or requires a leash.

It began as Memorial Park, to commemorate the war dead of earlier times is still known colloquially as Memorial Park or increasingly as the Dog Park since canines are welcome. There is a river that runs through it, much to the delight of said dogs and small children. There is a nice jungle gym for the kids and dog-lovers are known to strike up great friendships at the park, meeting there regularly.

A core group of volunteers rehabilitated it back to a mostly indigenous zone and it is a great conservation and community success story.

It's free to visit and use so make use of it!
