Possibly the worst place I stayed in, booked 4 night but couldn't get myself to sleep a second, room has no aircon, very warm, stuffy and small. Felt like a servant's room. Someone took a shower at 3am (not B&B fault) but pipes in my room made such a noise I got up twice to see what is going on. Bathroom sort of neat but missing finishes one would expect for a room you pay to stay in. Struggled to get alternative accommodation but all the effort was worth it, much better places to stay at. (my car was an option at one point). If I could it would be a no star, 20% is too good

I will NEVER ever stay at Lavender Lane again and NEVER recommend it to anyone. I would rather sleep in my car.
Taps swing around, showers dirty, walls peeling from dampness, DSTV remote hangs in front of the TV.
Receptionist was not concerned about the poor state of the rooms.

We stayed for 2 nights but because of work commitments extended that 2 another night. The room and the bathroom were tiny but since we were working all day we were not too fazed. We just needed somewhere clean and quiet to sleep. The first morning we showered and the shower leaked all over the bathroom and into the bedroom. As we were leaving I reported this to the office and was told that they kept getting it fixed but as soon as someone heavy got in it leaked again. Since neither my husband nor I are large people I found this response rather off putting but decided to leave it. I also mentioned that there appeared to be a toilet flushing in the room behind our bathroom rather frequently when I booked in for the extra night. When we got in late from work last night - there was only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for 2 adults, the shower was still leaking 3 days later and then the toilet behind the one in our bathroom was flushing less than every 5 minutes. When I reported this this morning, the lady pretended she knew nothing about me reporting the shower or the flushing toilet!
Some other people were working on the site with us and also boked into Lavender Lane. Firstly when they arrived they were told the rate they had been quoted on the phone was incorrect R 400 for a single and R630 for a double. They were charge R550 and R100 respectively. When I checked in originally I distinctly hear the lady telling someone on the phone that it was R400 for a single room. Then they were charged for breakfast and when they went there this morning - the kitchen was closed and no-one was prepared to serve breakfast. Also, the single room had no hot water and when they asked for a move as they had noisy neighbours, they were not allowed to do so.
As you can image our rating is zero.
Perhaps this is why all the reviews currently shown date back very long ago.
