Quiet and comfortable amongst the plum trees
Very quaint farm, good accommodation with a lovely view. Enjoyed the local farm animals and friendly host!
Fantastic place in a beautiful setting. The owners are great, and there is a tranquil beauty that is hard to find elsewhere.
Quaint self-catering guest cottages on a working fruit farm. Our cottage - Kingfisher, which sleeps four and is adjoined to Heron cottage - was hidden in the plum orchard. The cottage was wonderfully light, cool an breezy despite the summer heat. The beds were lovely (which I value highly!). The kitchen feels spacious and was well equipped with everything we needed - not luxurious but complete, clean and well organized. The small living area feels just as spacious and includes a breakfast nook. The patio is spacious, beautiful and quaint, and overlooks the orchard, framed by trees and roses. The rooms are basic but lovely, with plenty of cupboard space and a wash basin in the main bedroom. The hostess, Susan, and her son, were incredibly friendly and most gracious, and received us with kindness and making us feel welcome. They were also very helpful in suggesting restaurants to try and amenities to see around town. The atmosphere on the farm is calm and restful, and the vista created by the mountains and the orchards is breathtaking. The farm is a 20 minute walk from town. La Verdure is most certainly very high on our list when we come to Franschhoek in future!
Comfortable rooms, not very luxurious but with a wonderful view of the Vinyard.
Google maps will not get you to the right spot though, you'll have to phone the owners to get directions
