Fantastic setting with great menu choices. Our table of 6 adults and 4 kids was well run. Only problem with the food was with my bistecca. First served blue-rare instead of MR. Then was hot grilled to medium. Not good.
But everyone else had a delicious main and desserts were great.
Still a good choice of restaurant. A bit pricey in comparison to a lot of good places around the country, but you’re paying for the setting as well as the food.

This is a great restaurant. It has a real Italian vineyard vibe. The pizzas are great, the staff are friendly.

They are a bit pricey on some of their menu items, but it is totally worth it. Once you are seated a lady will come around to tell you about the specials of the day. She goes through it in great detail making you feel like ordering everything.

The coffee is very good and they are licensed.

What a superb afternoon spent in the Midlands at La Lampara!

Janet, who is an institution here, ran through the menu in her normal animated way.

Orders were then taken by the owner herself, Caroline. Two of our table of four liked the sound of the penne pasta with lamb cubes except that it was served in a tomato based sauce. We asked if they could add a touch of cream to it, and they were happy to oblige! It was absolutely superb dishes could have been put straight back in the cupboard 😜

The men had the spatchcock baby chickens and raved about their meals.

The best was saved till the end I have been trying to find home made Cassata at every Italian restaurant we visit and it's always bought in and awful! Cue the violins Caroline makes the Cassata herself and she kindly put away two portions for us! Yummy! It was worth the wait.

Lovely spot to spend an afternoon with good friends celebrating a birthday and the staff even obliged with a candle and a Happy Birthday sing to the Birthday Boy!

What an amazing experience. The service is incredibly quick. The quickest I've ever experienced. Our drinks arrived within 2 minutes of the order. And our food with 10 minutes. It's an authentic Italian restaurant nestled in the midlsnds. Felt like I was in a Godfather movie set. The ambience is excellent and the food itself was incredible. Slightly expensive but so worth it.
