The restaurant is in such a beautiful place and with a relaxed and relaxing environment. It’s actually pleasant to spend the 3 hours there enjoying the beautiful and tasteful food!
Our waiter happened to be son from Portuguese immigrants and he made the effort to speak Portuguese to us all the time. Making it a even more intimate experience! Also he was really kind and gave us some nice tips about where to find the best wines in the town! Awesome service!

Amazing. My words can't do it justice so won't even attempt to. Food, wine, service, location all top notch. One of the best meals of the year. Go try it!

I very rarely give anyone 5 stars. You have to be really outstanding to get that. With La Colombe there should actually be 7 stars.

With no doubt in my mind I can say that this was the very best eating experience of my life. The venue was amazingly perched on the side of a mountain, the staff were incredibly friendly and removed any ounce of pretentious notions, and finally the food.... no words can describe the delacacy and presentation. The love and attention that the chef put into was clearly present, and it came across as a performance.

And the surprise was incredible and highly entertaining.

If you are in Cape Town, this is definitely a required visit.

    Don't bother to come.
I suspect the other good reviews are fake.
Terrible ambience. Total waste of time.
Poor and slow service. Only redeeming quality was the view from the drive up.
You will only have a nice table if you are white.
Food wise it looks presentable but the taste is very discordant.
The presentation is original but I don’t feel that the flavours are complementary.
Wine list is good but that doesn't make a restaurant.
So overall I would say - poor service, average food, ambience depends to where they seat you. And this can really spoil a meal. Especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.

I have had the pleasure of dining at some of the best restaurants in my time and I can hands down say that this is one of my favourite culinary experiences i've had. The food is exceptional, the flavours and dishes very creative, and the service 6 star (our waiter Philip truly made our lunch very special - so thank you Philip).
My advice to anyone dining at this restaurant would be make sure you include the enchanted forest (a new concept they have introduced to the menu) in your experience, it's quite the bit of fun :)

We had the best dining experience of our lives. The staff, the food, the wine, it was all sublime! I recommend it absolutely!

I enjoyed all the unexpected elements of it. The food was delicious but not as amazing as I remembered it from a few years ago. The dessert (which is my favourite part of a meal) was not memorable.

Definitely a place worth going to. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in South Africa. The view is breathtaking. The food is delicious and the staff is very polite and friendly. The only thing that was strange was the waiter asking us to go into another room were the mad hatter from Alice and wonderland was entertaining the guests. It was actually uncomfortable leaving our table to go into a dark strange room walking around with the mad hatter. But overall it was a great experience especially in the end. I won't ruin the surprise. You have to be there to know it.

This is not a place just to get good food - this is a dining experience (I urge you to save towards this). The food, ingredients used, service and ambiance makes for a majestic culinary experience. In my opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in South Africa and the accolades received by the team there evidence this. Superior quality and presentation of food together with a feast fit for kings. You just cannot go wrong visiting this special place - book now! Highly recommended.

An amazing foodie experience! I highly recommend going for the full tasting menu, as each dish was exceptional. When making a reservation, ask for a table next to the windows (for a great view!)

I arrived with extraordinarily high expectations and they were totally exceeded. Service was friendly and professional, versus the stuffy and serious you sometimes get in highly rated restaurants. Every course was outstanding with diverse and interesting flavours perfectly balanced. Better than any restaurant in New York, which is really really saying something.

In my top 5 of all times - a world class establishment. The pricing is on the same level as the food - it is however well worth celebrating a special occasion here! Book well in advance to avoid disappointment! As a guide I am lucky enough to eat in many of the Cape's finest establishments year in and year out - La Colombe remains a treat!
