Excellently curated exhibits that are well looked after. One of the best exhibits of the establishment of our Republic and the history leading us to where we are today. There's something for all though.

One of the best museums in the country. A must-see whenever one is in Pietermaritzburg. The rock art displays are phenomenonal and accurate. The range of material from the natural and human sciences, on display, is mind-blowing. I wish I spend more time there!

it was excellent, historic and educational. There is a section dedicated to India and Mahatma Gandhi. The museum has incredible displays, well thought of and well kept. Lots to see and loads to learn!! A definite must for any tourists visiting the area.

Worth a visit but as all the other reviews had suggested it's a bit dated. But heck it's a museum!! What do you expect, that's what museums are meant to be!! They have some hands on exhibits for younger kids. When we went it was all traditional musical instruments.

The museum is situated in Pietermaritzburg and offers visitors a great experience. there is ample to see, however there hasn't been much change or updating of the museum for many years.
