The nursing staff are wonderful, but he service from the doctors, especially the physicians. We make appointments, but they are on leave. Nobody bothers to cancel the appointment.

Service at this hospital is not part to other chain private hospitals. I would have expected the service to be top rated since it is a boutique hospital and doesn't have the red tape of the chain.

Had to stop on my way back from Kruger due to a bite/reaction in my leg.
Personel in this hospital is very friendly but unfortunately is the only good thing I can say about this place.

Administration

45 minutes , 6 forms and 12 signatures, copies of passports and credit cards, with totally unefficient process and unclear communication on hospital policies and fares.

Medical Attention

Finally, I get to see a doctor who pretty straightforwardly orders blood analysis and some antibiotics to be administrated directly in vein. They do two different 'holes'/injections for blood and to administer antibiotic( they could have done both through the tube they had open in my hand). Somehow I react very bad to antibiotic dose ( that can be my own thing, but never had such thing) , with intense pain and cramps in my arm and pect. In the middle of it, the blood test lady comes back with the machine for me to swipe , otherwise she cannot go on with the test results ( why the 45 min of administration, checking card, signing forms, etc ??!!!)

Price

Overall, I paid 5300 ZAR for a 3 h service ( which could have been done in 45 min) incl. simple blood test ( just checking infectious indicators and malaria test) and administrating an antibiotic. I consider this price to be pretty expensive, even for European Private Health standards. By no means , I consider the service I received to be in concordance with that premium level.

Unless you are in big urgency, my recommendation is to avoid this hospital.

I went in for surgery on a broken hand. Every single staff member greeted me kindly, from manager to porter to theatre staff. I felt that the theatre staff listened to my comments and assisted me as much as possible. The theatre was modern and looks well equipped. The nursing staff was attentive and friendly, fast to respond. Again, they listened and made an effort to make me as comfortable as possible. The food, apparently a new caterer, was satisfying. I felt understood and well cared for. All round my best hospital experience so far.
