Just got back from a 2 week stay in South Africa. We spent 3 days at Kambaku Safari Lodge and I still haven’t recovered from how amazing it was! We saw the “Big 5” the first day out. Our ranger, Nick was awesome. He knew when and where to take us each trip out to see all the animals. The entire team at Kambaku made us very comfortable and they were all respectful of the animals. Amenities were great! Pool, full bar, lounge area, private rooms and fun staff. Can’t wait to go back some day.

We spent three nights at the Kambaku Safari Lodge in March 2016. This stay turned out to be one of our absolute highlights during our three week trip through South Africa and Swaziland.
In all modesty we can say that we’ve seen some game lodges during our past trips, but Kambaku made it to the top ranks on our list.
Starting with David, the lodge’s General Manager: what a wonderful, welcoming host, full of warmth to his guests and a big sense of British humor we love so much. Gideon, the guide, and Eric, the tracker, made the game drives a very rich experience. Guys, you still owe us a Leopard, but the rest was absolutely great. :-) Guess, we just have to come back again.
All the staff at the lodge really did a terrific job, e. g. preparing a remarkable dinner at the water hole under a star-filled sky; a life-time experience. Speaking of dinner: Prepare to be spoiled with excellent and varied food when you stay there.
The rooms were very comfortable, offering everything we needed. At 38° C, my wife would have enjoyed an air conditioning system, but due to the solar-powered electricity system, this is of course not possible. It worked well with the ceiling fan, though, it just made the experience even more African.
Leaving the lodge after three days was a very sad moment, we would have loved to stay much longer. And we will love to come back to David and his team as soon as we can.

Awesome experience, this is a really great family friendly way to experience the bush of Africa. The staff are all very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, not only on the animals but the stars, vegetation and pretty much anything you want yo know about the wild. The drives were amazing, we got to see all of the Big 5 including a lion within 10 feet of the vehicle, and the illusive white lion.

The accommodations were quite nice with traditional thatched roof huts which were reasonable comfortable. The food, however, was amazing.

I was particularly happy with the rangers ability to cater to your desires. They seemed to try to figure out what you wanted to see during the day and then show it to you on the next game drive. When the rest of my family goes to Africa they will likely stay here.
