Would have been lovely to visit the site but according to a local newspaper someone was hurt here ; therefore it is dangerous. It is such a pity due to the fact that all the other reviews were quite pleasant.

Good for a walking and meeting dog lover's and at times one can find African spirtul in the strim yet not recomendid by law as there is no control so security keeps a close eye so we can all enjoy. A idea I would give South Africa needs a new look in the laws for African culture as they love to do they things in nature in the city such as the James & Ethel park . Good securty for your car in the parking so go and take a work or just to relax.

This is a nice little park with some good views across a lot of greenery. It’s very easy to get to from Melrose Arch, and if you’re into running and want a bit more space, the neighboring communities of Birdhaven and Melrose are safe and pleasant for some bigger loops. Be aware that there are many people walking their dogs here, so at times this park may not be as pleasant unless you don’t mind public spaces being taken over by dogs.

Lovely views of the city and a forest feel. Dog-friendly, but also not a bad place to take out your amateur cricket bat and ball, or anything else too really. Can't say the canine won't want to play along though, so be prepared.

Great sanctuary to bring your dogs and small children. Very well looked after. I would definitely pay and entrance fee for it to remain this way.

Great park with a beautiful view of the Joburg skyline. Also lots of people bring their dogs here for walks so if you like dogs this park is great.

Amazing Park. Great view. But people are not taking care of their dog's business. That is a big let down.
Vagrants living a good life around the creek. Hmmm! that makes you feel bit nervous.
City park is not doing enough to get things sorted.
Wish their was a police man to issue tickets to people, who do not clean after their dogs and get rid off un wanted tenants.
Some times, you get those idiots, who think , this park is for dogs not people.
But it is a good place to walk around or if you have kids, nice kid's play area. Don't go to remote areas of park please. Enjoy! And be safe.response / report this review -

This place is huge and very popular with people with pets because you will find their poop and the smell of the same all around this park. I don't think people pick up and throw the same like at several other parks. It's good to play soccer or cricket and has a full fledged round circular ground overlooking the CBD. The ground has Benches to sit all around to watch the game. Good place for a one time visit unless you have a pet. Thanks

Great dog walking park. Large plot of land to walk your dog. It is a well maintained park. Some spectacular views, however, the park does lack color. I wouldn't suggest this place for a picnic

A great green spot in Johannesburg to take your dogs for a walk. However, the council needs to deal with the vagrants sleeping or loitering around there. Also has some playground amenities to entertain the children. The park is well maintained and kept clean. It's a meca for dog owners on the weekend.
