Very nice sparkling wines and the tastings are well executed. It would be nice though if they were outside. But everyone is very friendly and it's a good way to spend an afternoon.

I had greater expectations with this renowned establishment. Poor service, unfriendly, food was not great. The only thing attractive was the impeccable decor. Very disappointing

The location is beautiful and there is a great ambiance once you enter the taste room. We had the nougat pairing and it was absolutely great. Our host took us through all the different sparkling ones and the tones that are present. Definitely a place that I will recommend, either for a romantic outing or something to do with a group of friends.

The location is great. You get a lot of informations about this place and the manufacturing of champagne. They serve different pairings for tasting their delicious liquids. I can recommend the olive pairing! After you had a good start and know your sparkling vine, you can sit on a desk outside and enjoy a bottle in the sun. Cheers

This is one of my favourite places to go to for special occasions. The restaurant serves really great food (a bit pricy but really good food) and the tasting menu is fantastic! Done this a few times and always enjoy the experience. It can get VERY busy so it is best to book your tasting and seat at the restaurant if you want to have a meal.

its a national treasure, I will return to J.C Le Roux every year because its that good. The tasting was wonderful , relaxing could of stayed there longer. Lunch was great. I recommend this place fir a visit.

Amazing experience. The sparkling wine and nougat tasting was well priced and really worth it. Something I would definitely do again. The service at the restaurant was great , the food delicious and a fine dining experience.

We went as a fairly large group and were very excited to give the champagne and nougat pairing a try. On arrival we were met with unfriendly staff and told we would have to wait for our entire party to arrive before we could be seated - which is fair - but had to continue waiting even after we informed them that some people would be late.

We were given a good introduction to the different champagne and nougat options - a great part of the whole event. However after the intro we had no contact with any staff until we left, even if we tried to get their attention. Seeing as the restaurant was almost empty there wasn't really an excuse for this.

All in all we were quite disappointed seeing as we'd been looking forward to this for a while - won't go back.

A friend and I visited wine farms in the Stellenbosch area on 21 and 22 February. After visiting 7 wine farms on 21 February, we were very excited to start our visits on 22 February at JC le Roux, Devon Valley. The reason being JC le Roux La Domaine is absolutely my preferred drink even above any wine. There was must anticipation considering the wonderful reception we received at all the wine farms the previous day.
We arrived at 09:25, 25 minutes after advertised times. We were asked if we were interested in products, my friend said yes as well as tasting. We were handed a price list and asked if we wanted breakfast upstairs because she is preparing for a big group visit and needed to prepare for them. The lady then handed my friend a price list, turned around and walked away.
No friendly smile, reception what a let down. We decided to walk out and as we left we discussed the whole scenario and both felt that such unacceptable behaviour was not to go undetected. We turned around and went back inside to write in the comment book. The lady immediately walked up to us and asked if there was anything wrong. I said, yes but that it was too late now. I said she can carry on with her preparations and read my comment later.
I wrote my comment in the comment book on 22 February 2017 on a clean page right on top with my cell number. Till now, no one has contacted me and I am assuming the page was torn out .
Disappointed we went on to visiting Van Ryn Brandy and were treated like royalty - Thank you Van Ryn for starting our day in the manner which we had expected from JC le Roux.
PS: The only way I was allowed to post this was by rating, hence the 1 star ??

Beautiful views. Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The Noughat and Shampagne combined tasting is very nice.
