IBR Fire was started with a husband and wife team working from the kitchen counter in a two bedroom house with a capital investment of R27.38. Over the years growth was always present but not without the challenges that small business faces that would include cashflow impediments to fund 30 day accounts, administrative burdens imposed by legislative demands and the shortfall in available skills.

The importance placed on personnel is reflected in the retention of skills grown internally with the overwhelming majority having 10 to 20+ years of service. Gender neutral policy means that earnings are activity based and free of discriminatory practices.

Participating within industry bodies, IBR Fire has been an active role player contributing to many of the rules and regulations now driving the industry in South Africa. This continues as it's critically important develop higher skill standards in the country and grow consumer participation by encouraging transparency and enlightenment.

Today, with 950 square meters dedicated to stores and workshop and a further 450 square meters of modern office space the company is well placed to expand operations.
