I wanted new shocks and brake pads fitted, I was told the shocks were fine but the car needed shock saddles. I asked for a quote and was given a price so I asked them to order the parts and made an appointment for this Saturday. I took my car in at 8 am as requested and they undertook to fix my car. I then received a call at 11am telling me that they could not do the back brakes as they did not know that the car had an electronic hand brake, and this after they had driven the car and released the hand brake electronically three times.

I advised Ricci that I am not paying for the back brake pads as they did not do the job and had some excuse that I had to bring the car back on the Monday. I asked him for the paperwork and he handed me an Invoice that was for R3980 and that was without the back brakes. When I queried this I was given more excuses and stories. The Initial Price I was given was R3750 for everything. He even wrote on the piece of paper supplied and fitted.

I would like to know where the additional costs come from that are listed as Shock Saddle bearings and labour. The Shock saddles come from the agents with bearings and why was I charged for labour when the piece of paper clearly states supplied and fitted.

I believe that I was conned with this invoice and over charged and would like an explanation. I don`t know what would have happened if I refused to pay the Invoice. When I got the car back it was covered in greasy hands marks. All in all it was a shocking experience with shoddy service and being ripped off with the price. I await a response on this matter and should this not be forthcoming I will not hesitate to take this matter further.
