Wonderful experience. Animals are in great condition. And enclosures are well maintained. Was sad to hear that nobody recognized Austin James Stevens as this was the park that he originally started off with in SA. Where he broke the record for living in a small cage like home for over 100 days with numerous Venomous snakes including Black Mamba, Boomslang, Snouted Cobra ( of which 1 actually bit him) and Puff Adders. He wrote a book about his time living here "Snakes in my Bed".

What a sight. It was amazing. All the animals are treated like royalty with the freshest fruit and vegetables, I could eat it off the floor, very clean and tidy. There is a variety of animals, from racoons to bears. We will definitely return for more excitement.

Very well kept and maintained Reptile Park with various types of Snakes and other types of Animals including Lions and various types of dogs. The snake and seal show was a great experience for us and the water front was a very nice view to the Hartbeespoortdam.

This is a real intimate family zoo, you get to interact with some of the animals, really nice vibe, they have a snake show and a seal performance that is done very well.

If you've ever been to a small zoo and left feeling like you have no faith left in humanity, then the snake and animal park will be a true breath of fresh air.
As you walk in you will take note that the experience is not centered around you as the front door lady is usually busy updating her Facebook status and it's actually OK, because there are few places so we'll kept and maintained around south Africa.
Which is a grand statement as I've been to a few places in Africa and left wondering who the real animals are, the people who treat animals that way or the animals themselves.
Each enclosure is clean, well maintained and focused on the animals care and well being. It is beautiful to see the care put into looking after these creatures.
It is a great place to take the kids or the wife for a special day out.
I urge you to go and spend some money to allow the zoo keepers to keep up the amazing work.

Nice, small zoo with lots of interesting animals. The cage are probably a little small for the bigger cats as they pace a lot, but the zoo is a worthwhile visit for kids.

For those who like zoos, a great experience with lion, leopard, tigers and many more smaller animals. They have an entertaining snake and seal show and with school groups, you can opt for a hands on experience. There is also a boat ride on offer for those brave enough. A good selection of snakes can be found in their reptile section.

Apr 24: After the dam visit, came to this place. Actually, not very interested in the park but wanted to do the boat cruise. We entered at 12 pm and there was a show at the arena. The show was with seals and snakes. Good, if one hasn't seen anything like this at some other place. Having seen the dolphin and seal show in Dubai, this was just okay and could be missed. They also have huge cages with lion, tiger, cheetah and jaguar apart from varities of snakes and birds. There was a nice breeze during the boat ride. The water is green but not clear - quite dirty. However, there was no foul smell. The boat goes at a nice space and the views are stunning and a drink goes well with the views. Enjoyable and a must do.
