Satisfactory and very outdated. Currently being refurbished. Breakfast and service quite good. Expect this to move to 4 after the refurbishment.

The friendly staff at Garden Court, Mthatha make this one of my favourite Garden Courts in the country. The staff, from the cleaners, chef, security guards, everyone and anyone has made my stays most pleasant (I spend at least a minimum of 4 days here every month).
The hotel is small and currently under renovation, so getting a room is tricky. Currently, the hotel is old-fashioned and not an amusing sight.
The restaurant only offers a buffet dinner, the a la carte option is offered only as a room service option. During lunch, they mostly serve sandwiches, so if you are in the mood for something the Ngebs Shopping Mall might be a better option to get lunch

Large and tired hotel with friendly staff. Room we stayed in needed much love, care and cleaning. Air con was good. Free parking and wifi ( very weak). We did not feel that paying 125 u$a per night was appropriate for this property. Be careful at night in town. N 2 by the hotel has huge tops, most without a sign, this can be very damaging to the car, if not careful.

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 10 years during my work trips I found the staff to be very friendly the rooms to be extremely comfortable and the environment to be very inviting to people from out of town

Still quite retro in styling and an update is overdue. But for Umthatha it's good quality. It's always fully booked though and reservations need to be made months in advance. I also think it's extremely over priced

Great place to go stay with family. It has a big swimming pool and anybody can go and relax. The breakfast is delicious, they offer a wide range of food from vegetarian to meat lovers. The staff is friendly and professional. I really enjoy my stay
