  The staff is snooty and basically rude and condescending. The store lacks much of a selection and many items lack a price marking - which tells me the prices are a sliding scale based on what they think you can pay . You can find a better selection and deals just three stores down at the other book shop. Oh, and the staff at that other store is far more friendly and helpful.

  I love browsing through the shelves at Fogarty's. Unique and independent bookshop. You always find something special here when it is not available elsewhere. Theresa and her staff are awesome. I am a publisher and my 2 authors did not have issues stocking their books here.

  Simply an excellent bookstore. Whenever I am in Port Elizabeth, I like to browse through Fogarty's Africana and history collection. It not only consists of the best-known books, but also of collector's items and unusual titles. Both English- and Afrikaans-readers will find something they love on the shelves. Some of my finest books about South Africa come straightly from Fogarty's.
  In addition, I have always found the staff to be very helpful.
