My hat off to Glenwood Spar. Spar was adverising Spar chicken at R31.99. When i enquired as to where they were I was told by a lovely lady (damn didn't get her name!) that they didn't have and preceded to take ALL the Rivermead Farm chickens off the shelf, I was told to carry on with my shopping because they are going to reprice the Rivermead chicken to R31.99. NOW THAT IS SERVICE OFF THE TOP SHELF. THANK YOU GLENWOOD SPAR💋💋💋💋

Fantastic place for fruits and vegetables. The products are always fresh. Staff is always aware of their products and helpful. Prices are reasonable. Easy access to the area, no long queues at the till, no crowding even when there are many customers. I'm addition to fruits and vegetables, there's also a small bakery inside, meat is also sold here, cheeses and dry foods like nuts, cereals, and pastas.

Food Lovers is definitely in my top 3 food retail franchises, and not just because they are in my neighbourhood. The staff are always helpful and friendly, and the food is always fresh and reasonably priced. The shop stock all of "The Mediterranean Kitchen" spreads, and their selection of cheeses and meats is satisfactory for the mid-income sub-urban market they cater for. The convenience of having your fruit & vegetables weighed at the check-out counter is unparalleled by any other food retailer.

If you like your vegetables without also buying little plastic bubbles, then this is where to go. Heaps of good fruit and veggies, in big trays so you can pick the ones you want. The variety is awesome. Some stuff they sell I have no idea what it is, or how to cook it. They also sell regular groceries, meat and breads, but its the veggies that they are good at.
