Beautiful art in a beautiful gallery, this is the oldest commercial art gallery in Johannesburg, South Africa which opened its doors in the heart of the city in 1913. The current building, built in the 1970s, is a great example of South African post-modern architecture.

Get on the mailing list and go to the openings of their exhibitions. A pleasure to visit and open to the public every day except Sunday. On the Keyes Art Mile, so many other galleries to visit nearby. Spend at least 30 minutes. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

What a delight. Wooden floors, high ceiling, amazing lighting and great international and local South African Art. If you like contemporary art and enjoy looking at sculptures and oil paintings you should put this on your list of places to visit in Johannesburg. I highly recommend this art gallery if you want to see how good South African Art can be.
