The lodge we stayed at on this reserve is called Leopardsong. So relaxed, so friendly, such good value. The game drives at 6 am and 4 pm you really must go on to see the big five in their natural habitat. Thrilling! And if you love the birds of Africa, there are so many to enthrall you.

I recently did a self drive with my family and was really surprised at how lovely this area is. It didn't cost much, 90% of the roads within the park are sedan friendly and we saw loads of animals. A giraffe crossed the road so close to our car that it literally felt like he was stepping over us. We will defiantly be back as soon as possible oh and as always with a game drive, start early and plan to leave as late as possible. If I could improve on anything, I would love to see the park include a picnic area that is included in the parks fees as you need to pay a small additional fee to enter the current one.

Beautiful reserve with a lot of game lodges to choose from. Lots of game to view that includes the Big Five. Located north of Pretoria within an hours driving for day visiting or a relaxing stay in one of the luxurious lodges. Even tent camps to experience outdoor living (most luxuries included). One of the few nature reserves were the Big Five is located so close to a major metropolitan area.

A great place for a break away and to relax. I spent a few days at Ouklip Game Lodge, the people are friendly and helpful, the facilities are neat and the units far enough apart that there is adequate privacy. It is also a great place for taking wildlife photos too as the animals are not too spooked by vehicles. Simple, quiet, peaceful.

Well this was a nice little surprise! I have heard about Dinokeng but was totally surprised to hear that it has the big five! On the first day we went there we saw lots of animals but none of the big 5. The roads are relatively good some not so good but overall not too bad. Loads of lodges and B&B's. Also camping sites. The main camp is superb! What a beautiful place! Wood carved out into faces and animals. Really artistic! I would love to stay there sometime. It was a bit dry obviously not too much rain. I am sure it would be lovely if it were greener. Great place to go to.

Clean, safe, so relaxing. The game viewing on the main road is in abundance and so surprising. Feel so spoiled with the morning fresh air and game nearby.

Quiet and easy to get around in a saloon car. Saw a reasonable amount of wildlife in the time we had there. Probably best as an easy day out rather than a game drive.

Great game reserve for game viewing. Just a pity about all the speed bumps. You really have to crawl over them. Otherwise a good place to visit close to Pretoria

As far as I can see, I get the feeling that there has been a great improvement after the fences between the lodges in the Dinokeng Reserve has been drop. The access control is great, sufficiant and working well. This is a plus point for anti-poaching. The security is tight, main road well maintained and grass on the side off the road is been cut nice and short so that to give the car drivers passing by enough time to see animals before it is to late. I haven't been to any lodges, but from the passing through on the main road, it all seems in good order. Due to this, I will make a plan in the near future to book a weekend there

Spent a weekend at one of the lodges on the reserve. Really beautiful place, home away from home. Perfect for those quick weekend breaks. Did a self drive game drive. Prefer doing it with a safari vehicle though. Roads not suitable for sedans, however that did not stop us. MAde the most of it.

Well worth the trip and a perfect place to go to if you want to get back to nature. ..but the road signs are very bad and you can easily get lost

That's a wonderful place to have fun with your friends. The place is beautiful especially the people who work there, they welcome you with big smile. I love the place and it's a must go again.

The hosts are the most wonderful people when we visited Tamboti Lodgeeven their grandchildren. The chalet was big n clean, the pool was clean and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The only disappointment was the tennis courtit was pretty run down. I hope they did something about it now. The grounds man was also awesome, I forgot him name but he was super-helpful.
