  The pubbiest pub in Stellenbosch (and the odest!). The owner, Simon, has taken great care to re-furbish and clean up De Akker, and now it is clean, has great service and above all, is a great place for a beer and a banter. Good food (small but essential pub collection), good music (the have live musicians every other week), and a great place to take friends.

  More like de Kakker. Food is terrible, service worse and management nonexistent. The staff at the bar just stand around. Not worth the time and money.

  Fantastic old pub with lots of character in a historical part of Stellenbosch. Lots of fun at night especially on weekends.
  
  Simon has taken the quality and the service to the next level. A must visit when passing through Stellenbosch.

  Just after the renovation the food was amazing but then it kind of went downhill... My favorite place to be... Menu is to small and the quality of the food is unpredictable unfortunately
  But i love the vibe there and its a great place to have a few drinks.

  A great place for local students, particularly an older crowd. Fantastic drink specials, but be warned that smoking is permitted in doors and leaves you with quite a smell.

  Great place to stop off for a few afternoon drinks. Outdoor area has water mist sprays to keep you cool on the outside while the great selection of drinks kept me cold on the inside. We didn't have food but the portions going to neighbouring tables looked impressive.
