Lovely place! I stayed in the Stone Cottage. Huge double bed, nice bathroom and well equipped kitchen. The staff here are friendly too! I'll be back. I'm glad I never read the reviews because I might not have come here and discovered this cosy place.

Wow what a horrible lack of customer service. For the R100 you have "lost" in your incompetent customer complaint review reply above, I will give you some training worth much more - only a pleasure.

First always remember, the reason why you have a business is to full a customer demand.

Secondly the customer does not need you BUT you need the customer.

How to deal with an upset customer
    1. Listen
    2. Empathise
    3. Resolve
    4. Follow up

Always use words like "may I" "please" and "thank you" and NEVER assume!

Before any responses to your customer, determine if the client made a Suggestion, Question or Statement - Then action accordingly. Remember you NEVER reply to a Statement made with a story or excuse - you only thank you're Customer politely to avoid conflict and rather request a suggestion to better your services.

If you need more training I will gladly assist as I am fully qualified in business customer care - but this will cost you - apologise to your customer and get your act together!

Our reply to a very warped review:
    Dear Tamsyn,

I trust you and your family are well.

I read your comments on Google review with dismay - totally unfair!

You booked on 18 April after which there were emails confirming your booking for 2 adults and a toddler. As the bed is made up as a King I assumed that the child sleeps with you as no mention was made of a sleeper couch for your 3-year old son.

You arrive on Friday just after 1pm which was fine as you had requested earlier arrival due to you attending a wedding at Mina’s at 2pm. You no doubt noticed that my day was a hectic one and when I took you to Rainbow cottage, all I had to do was put in toilet rolls and tea/coffee sachets and I asked one of the girls to bring sleeper couch linen - so the place was ready.

I charged you R200 for the sleeper couch instead of R300 which is fine.

When you were paying you mentioned that you might only stay 1 night but were fully aware that we require a minimum 2-night stay over weekends and you therefore duly paid for 2 nights.

You did not advise anyone here that you were leaving on Saturday - we would not have been any wiser; therefore Rainbow was left on Saturday evening without the alarm being set - a risk to us.

Furthermore you said the place was cold - did you not make use of the electric blanket that I told you about? Also, you did not request extra firewood and firelighters.

As for the geyser being too small - this is the standard 150 litre type geyser and we have never had a complaint regarding too little hot water. Furthermore, in these times of the need for water conservation, it is surprising that anyone will stand under a shower for 10 minutes!!

Furthermore we advise that we will be posting this on google.

    Regards
    Jady

After booking months in advance, confirming our booking a week before and requesting and receiving confirmation of early check in, we were received, quite poorly prepared. Hostess had forgotten about the arrangements and we needed to get to a wedding. Room was not fully set up, there was a mixup around the toddler sleeping arrangements and costs charged (remember after confirming this ahead of time!).

The chalet is adequate and has all you need although it is freezing cold (July). No heater, only a fireplace, with complimentary wood, which was cozy, but hard to keep going without extra firelighters. The geaser is a little small, hot water was depleted half way through second shower, which were no longer than 10 mins each. If the management is a little more organised this would be a lovely place to stay. Our's was not great. We left a day early.
