For the most part I go there for my groceries. However, I have been left with a sour taste due to the security guard who didn't allow me in at 19:45 on Saturday, 27 January, 2018. I was under the impression the store -as per the plaque on the door- that the store closes at 20:00. But the security guard took it upon himself to refuse me entry. And when I requested to Manager he refused that right to me as well and said "just leave because I will not allow you into this store nor to speak to the Manager". I had a very bad experience and am quite disappointed.

Checkers at Overport is a decent place to go for weekly grocery shopping, if you live nearby.
Although it can get crammed on weekends and during seasonal sales, it has all necessary groceries, produce, and other household needs.
It would be advisable to go shopping earlier on in the day as it closes in the late afternoon and becomes crowded then, too.response / report this review -
