Walking under the big, green letters into the bright store always puts a smile on my face. A friendly baton-waving guard ready to tape up my Edgars bag to prevent me becoming a grocery felon. I grab a green and grey plastic trolley, some sani-wipes and a copy of this weeks specials.

The entrance to the aisles is kind of in an awkward position, it leads you, first, into the cockery and cutlery and then into the stuff you came to the store for. The fresh foods sections are always a treat. I for one enjoy seeing all the different kinds of vegetables that I will not buy because they're apparently priced according to their level of brightness, for example, red cabbage costs more than green cabbage or red onion will cost a little more than normal onions. Its passive veggie racism is what it is! I demand equality for all veggies!

Once I regained composure post-veggie inequality experience, I headed over to the diary to get some cheese for my wheat digestives. Checkers has a lot of cheese. If you think you know cheese, you don't. I can have a different cheese with every cracker in this box and still not be done with the first display. Fun fact: the human body cannot digest diary efficiently so we pair cheeses with crackers to assist our stomachs a little.

I then proceeded to the prepared food section which is always a delight. This Checkers has quite a wide range of fresh food stuffs from whole roast chicken to curries and pickles. You can pick up a decent family meal here. I always get some chips with sauce and a fork. Great to keep the energy levels up for the trek back to my car.

All in all, great Checkers store. Staff are always friendly. The normal tills tend to move faster than the express tills most of the time because the express tills only ever seem to have two cashiers at them. Make sure to check specials first and make a list before visiting. Not everything is fairly priced.

Big store with a wide variety of goods including fresh fruit and food. The chain has really improved over the years and I hardly ever use any other now.

Jessy is one of the finest Managers I have ever met. Very proactive, dedicated and hands on. I shop there only because of the fantastic management. I assume the Checkers group appreciates their staffthey are truly dedicated.

You guys CUSTOMER SERVICE is bad!still never sort the staff out and how they treat the customers when they come to the store!if you guys do not sort this problem out will take action on the store to be close down also will put it on the internet,newspapers and web site to show the people how bad checkers hyper gateway store give the CUSTOMER SERVICE!
