  Seating uncomfortable with tables being too low, you keep banging your leg against the beam underneath and its difficult to cross your legs. Way too hot and stuffy inside. Waitress wasn't friendly and frankly a little abrupt

  I love popping in to Carlton Café when I'm in Pretoria. Food tastes amazing and is skillfully presented. The cheesecake is some of the best I've had. In fact, it's so good, I had a few made to order for the cheesecake dessert table at our wedding in April this year.

  Ambience is fantastic. However, I did find a hair in my breakfast, but it was handled very well and replaced with a freshly made breakfast :) I ordered a sweet spiced coffee and the coffee was cold. They waitress told me it was because of the syrup and then heated it up in the microwave. Not the best resolve but satisfactory. All in all, I would visit it again as the quality of food was excellent.

  The service is not that good because when I sat down no waiter came to my table and 2 lots of people that walked in after me got menus taken to them and were server. The shop was clean at least. The double americano that I had was ok but the double espresso I was first way to weak and the second one was so terrible I could not finish it was so sour. I recommend to stay away from the coffee. 15 minutes after we asked for the bill we still did not get it and had to go to the manager

  Had the best coffee of my life there. The food is excellent. Could easily see this being a regular place to visit.

  Great restaurant. Young, innovative staff. Some of the waitrons need to bring a little more motivation to work. Remember to press play on the CD player. We miss you sometimes Rachel.
