Ok, so what happened? Did owners change? You know the gag reflex your body makes when it eats dry food - yes, this is the Spur burger for you ladies and gentlemen.
ok so here goes
1. My brother and his friend came in for breakfast and waited 1 hour for their food. When it finally came it was without toast or onion rings. Making the excuse they are out of stock. Half an hour later only the toast came and they sort of gave up on the onion rings.
2. I had the worst steak any person can ask to get. It was raw (as in cold still in the middle). Thought it was kind of adventurous to eat a raw t-bone like this and was phased until I came home and was booked off for 3 days due to a tummy bug.
3. Jalapeno poppers with all their seeds in that turned my first date into one where we where crying of pain.
4. Cold ass burger with the minimum amount of chips. Was so dry cant even begin to explain how I managed it down.
Your branch is really disappointing these days. I have been living in Queenswood for 6 years now and I am really shocked.
Queenswood Spar sells rotten meat and you guys just a disappointment with every bite. Make THAT your new slogan.
Nice place typical of the franchise. Has a great smoking section with wide windows, not cramped like othe restaurants. Service differes from day to day but overall it's pretty reliable and the staff are friendly.
Some good days and some bad days. Have been going here for as long as I can remember. From then and now the playgrounds definitely improved and the dining erea as well. Kids can play safe in the outdoor and indoor play areas. The staff are good and I didn't have any issues with the orders or anything. Food isn't to bad as well. But as I said, some good days and some not. It all depends on the waiters you get and the time you go. Can't expect fast service when the place is packed.
Burning Arrow Spur (Queenswood) has since it opened many years ago been my/our most favourable Spur in South Africa, as the service is always great and meets expectations.
The facilities has always been kept fresh, new and has grown to accommodate more patrons and more specifically a massive play area for the kids!
As Spur Restaurants have always been known as a family restaurant the food options cater from a basic starter to a juicy quality steak and a yummy traditional South African pudding to finish it off.
Yes this is the way to further break down the Spur's name. Three orders taken - no food. Left. Last time Spur ever sees me again. Waited 10min for management to complain. The were probably fitting their scuba gear.
PS: Don't send you your standard please get in touch with us blah blah customers are important. You ALREADY KNOW what you did wrong. I'm not entering into useless correspondence by Spur PR. There is a reason I was there two years ago. Now for never.
Once again had the pleasure of visiting out local Spur. Hilda served us. Wow, what a wonderfull person. Ecxellent food, excellent service snd a great place!
The staff is friendly, always make time for you even during extremely busy times. Parking is limited because of all the shops. Food is amazing and they have great specials. Child friendly with competent staff look after your children while you are enjoying your meal.
Not all all happy. Went for dinner with a friend tonight. Placed my order, the waiter (unfortunately didn't get his name) didn't know anything about the stuff on the menu. After patiently placing our order, our food came a while later, I got mine first, about 10mins later 2 of the kids meals came, another 5-10mins my friends food come, more than 5 mins later the other 3 kids food came. I ordered extra chips and onion rings, only got chips and it came +- 10mins before my meal came, then waited for everyone else's food to come, by the time everyone had their food, mine was ice cold and wasn't exactly what I ordered. One of the kids had to wait an extra 10+mins because they didn't get what they ordered either.
Waiter didn't smile even once the whole time and was just plain grumpy. Then I asked for the bill, he brought it. Just under R689 for all our meals. I rounded it off to R700, didn't feel much in the mood to give him a tip since the relaxing night out turned into utter chaos when he kept getting things wrong and kids were unhappy about it. Then he still had the cheek to ask me, 'are you seriously going to just leave me R11 tip? I just looked at him with shock, and he said, "I want my 10% tip" since I had had enough of the evening, I just added an extra R50 and left. Can't believe the cheek, give bad service and then expect payment for it, at least I was willing to give something, when I shouldn't have given anything! And just to top it off, me and my friend are both recently widowed, we both have young children and decided for the first time in months to treat ourselves and our kids to a relaxing night out, and for this!!
Woman's toilets in unacceptable state and staff in the gaming area blatantly ignored me when I asked a question. The quality of food at Spur is going down as well in general. They're just not as good as they used to be. Our waitress Londo was friendly and good. She's the reason this isn't a 1 star rating.
My kids love this place. I cannot go to Pretoria without having meal at Burning Arrow Spur. Food, staff and environment is very good. You will never regret spending the time there.
Food was very good and service pleasurable as well. Too many visits from different managers to table though. Managers should have their own sections which they are responsible for.
Loved the cheese & garlic! Prawns (New item) Our waiter/s were accommodating and friendly! Great Experience!
My daughter loves this place. She plays for hours on end. The outside and inside play areas are very well equipped. The service is good.
Always good. The children always enjoy it. There's a lovely play area outside and a nice one indoors too. There are 2 ladies who mind the kids so it's nice.
We visited Spur 2 weeks ago and had the Burger special. It was really busy but the service was great and the food good. So we tried it again last Monday night for the last night of the Burger special. As we don't have kids we opted to go a bit later. What a disastrous evening. The waitress kept on asking "what" everything we spoke to her to start off with. We tried both Afrikaans and English but received the same response. She messed up the drinks order with both of our orders. When we said it's not our order she blamed the staff. She then came back with another wrong drinks order. I ordered a bottle of water and she replied "a what" again. Our food order wasn't anything better. My partners Burger was the wrong one and I'm convinced she added extra salt to the cheese sauce as it was impossible to eat. She never checked on us after we received the food. My partner couldn't even speak to her about the wrong food order as she just disappeared. She blamed the kitchen staff again when we eventually saw her again to pay. The most horrible evening and plate of food I have ever eaten. We will not be back!!!
A nice family restaurant with a large selection of food items. Fairly priced menu
Good place to go if you've got small kids. Huge play area, even a mini ferris wheel. Decent food also.
Sunday night I picked my burger @ 20:45
Once in the car I crabbed a fry as I was starving
Guess what? Ice cold!!!!!
I was on the phone with an international call so I could not go in to Spur and say something.
At home I was also disappointed again to see no Spur Sauce was placed inside the plastic as always.
R80 which I do not mind paying but threw away the chips and union rings as they were cold.
Went for a family dinner (still in progress) and had the most amazing waiter, Warren. He made the experience awesome, fun, comfortable and enjoyable for the whole family! The atmosphere and food is exactly what you can expect from a Spur franchise, the play area is awesome, but mostly Warren made our night awesome! A big smile, good sense of humor and friendly attitude made him stand out above waiters/waitresses throughout Pretoria!
