The must disgusting experience. Looking for a garage door override lock, the guy said not on the isle were the locks are at the traders, I went to the back, in the Q, nobody really interested to help just to have one of the gents pulling trough one of the ladies from behind me to help her... That's not service really disgusting. Then asked the manager to help, she very confidently said yes, here it is but then couldn't find it so she referred to me to another assistant that was busy with a client but when he was done he tried to help me but he also couldn't find it. Sorry guys but with such attitude the shop it becomes useless. If you want to check facts check the cameras between 12h00 and 13h00 today 30 June 2020. Waisted one hour of my time for nothing. Never again!
One can obtain almost anything that you want,/need in the DIY or construction fields. The shop floor though I'd dreadfully gloomy and dark. The staff are helpful though, if you can find The One to fit the aisle that you are seeking.
Shocking experience at the City branch, bought the last 3 panel gas heater online, only for it to be sold on to another customer in their store afterwards. A faulty one was returned to the shop floor and that was then sold on to me. Obviously had to return it and was just given a credit note for my troubles.
Tried to get through to Cape Gate store for most of yesterday afternoon as they showed that they had 3 in stock. You cannot get hold of anyone!! Then you are eventually cut off after waiting a while.
Promised a phone call this morning which never materialised.
I now need to return with my credit note to get my monies reimbursed back into my account as they no longer have the product at any of their stores. They are a complete waste of time. Why a sold sticker was not put on the one I purchased online is beyond me!
I would give no star rating if I could but that's not possible so reluctantly have to give a 1.
A new experience. First shopping outing since lockdown. People wearing facemasks, social distancing, etc. Was assisted by a fellow named Walter in the pool section of the hardware store. He was extremely patient and knowledgeable. He did a computerized water test and gave me a printout of the remedial action to be taken. We then found all that was needed to fix. A pleasant experience.
I love visiting this store. There is so much besides the hardware goods. Outdoor furniture, braais, plants, craft supplies or pool supplies. Wood can also be cut as needed. There is a huge amount of parking available. There is wheelchair accessible parking and entrance. There are public toilets
Good selection of hardware, gardening products and DIY products. There is plenty of parking. It is possible buy large quantities of items such as building sand, bricks, pipes (it is a builder's warehouse after all). Know what you want, how much you need and how much you are willing to pay for it (some items are not cheap or cost effective). There is also a small cafe attached to the builder's warehouse.
Not sure what you have done - but it is working! First time I have ever had great, helpful service and advice. Particularly from the two tall youngsters in the paint department, Keith in bathroom section and a guy called Calvin in the electrical switches area - he really went the extra mile and made an innovative plan to solve my problem. Thanks!
Their website doesn't give stock level. No one picks up the phone when you phone to check if they have stock. Disinterested staff, and of course, when you get their, they don't have stock. In comparison, the PE Builders is well stocked with helpful staff.
Excellent service from an elderly gentleman in the paint section Builders Warehouse - Northgate. Extremely knowledgeable and gave very good advice! Wish that all staff at Builders Warehouse were all of such high calibre!
Everything you need from hardware to gardening, nicely laid out, very neet & clean store, ample spacious parking. Staff friendly and are well trained in product knowledge. Customers care of highest standard.
VERY Dissatisfied bordering on Disgusted
I went to builders Northgate to purchase an item indicated in the brochure
The male assistant working in the braai department pointed me to everything other than I requested. I eventually had to find a brochure indicate the item required asking where I could find it. He after some more time said it was out of stock. I asked him to check the system only to be told they offline, I left my contact details been promised he would contact me as soon as the system came back online (an hour) THAT WAS 6 DAYS AGO!!!!
DON'T Promise to keep the costumer informed / updated if you have NO Intention of following through I could have made, infact I did make other arrangements having been so Badly let down
Lots of parking, they were able cut to cut my Formica boards to size straight away at a price better than a wood supplier. A wide range of goods and staff were helpful.
Don't even think of phoning them! The phone eventually answers and "I'm putting you through" then the phone rings out. Every damn time.
Terrible customer service. Delivery was 6 days late. No explanation or phone call during this time from builders. We had to do the chasing up and each time being promised the delivery would occur the next day, it didn't happen. Then when asked when the delivery would actually occur they acted as if they were doing us a favour and were going to "pull some strings" (actual words used). We still got charged the R300 delivery fee. The cost of the phone calls chasing them and the cost of the delayed project was so unnecessary. Needless to say we will never be using builders warehouse again and i will be telling anyone that listens how bad their service is.
Had the best service at Builders warehouse this weekend. I popped in on Saturday morning to get some paint and was assisted by a gentleman by the name of Abraham who works in the paint department. Not knowing what I was looking for in the specifics of paint he took me through all the various products and each of their applications, pro's and cons.
I went to Builders Warehouse with the intention to get the Fired Earth brand as I was already advised by somebody who has used this paint before that its really good. Abraham confirmed all the good which ive heard about this product. I did not make the purchase on Saturday morning as planned because of space in my vehicle, I did however return on Sunday morning to make the purchase and Abraham had already assembled the entire order and had it ready to go. He even pushed the trolley to the teller for me which I really did not expect him to do as he could have been seeing to other customers.
Upon payment, we had some issues with our card. The staff who assisted us with contacting our service providers help line were extremely patient and helpful. They made us feel welcome and actually showed that they wanted to help resolve the issue. Unfortunately I never got the ladies name at the help desk.
Thank you Builders Warehouse and Abraham (Fired Earth) for your fantastic service! I will be returning again because of this.
Terrible experience. Bought doors and when the builder went to fetch them, they were all damaged! This is costing us time and money to find new doors. Will not use this store again!
The quality and helpful staff never cease to impress me! Whether plumbing, electrical or carpentry someone has always been quick to offer expert advice and help me find the solution I'm looking for.
Great product selection and a very clean and neat store. The store is spacious which is a plus when shopping for large items.
I tend to have efficient excursions here. The staff are unfortunately not very knowledgeable so I don't recommend coming here if you don't know exactly what you want. The queues are generally quite bearable and the variety is good. I have not yet attempted a major DIY project using this store.
This place has become so expensive. I found that my local hardware store is now much cheaper and it used to be the more expensive one.
