  I'm still under shock how badly we were treated in Botsalano. Getting into the park was a very long procedure of filling in forms and answering questions. What do they need my home telephone number for? Then we had to undergo a car inspection. They said they were searching for firearms. Some 30 minutes later we could finally enter the game reserve. Literally five minutes later we were stopped by three "officials". One wearing a stocking mask, one holding a gun in his hand. Another car inspection they said. Since our car was almost completely empty they grabbed my camera bag and started to examine it. When I complained saying that we had just gone through a car inspection the third official shouted at me: "park policy". Altogether the whoile situation felt more like a holdup by grim gangsters. We felt threatened, badly treated, not at all welcome and decided to leave as fast as possible. At the exit even more paperwork. The lady told us we "have to" fill in a long survey before we can leave. One question was: Do you come for fun and leisure? Certainly not.

  We saw lots of animals, they have a big variety. Great place for bush and safari camping.

  Beautiful reserve. Lots of animals. Was surprised by the why they monitor the rhinos, they do an awesome job. Camps are neat and well equipped. Will visit again.
