  I have made a booking with Susan Starke – Blouberg Beach Cottage for 18 – 22 December 2017 and unfortunately had to notify her 3 weeks prior to checking in to move my booking forward to January 18 due to urgent working commitments as the office cancelled my leave for December and we will no longer be able to travel to CNT in December 17. She advised me that she is fully booked up to March but will re-advertise but surely will get my deposit back if she manage to get someone for the week that I have booked. I gave her notice on 23 Nov and was supposed to check in on 18 Dec. The office then advised that I can re-instate my bookings as we will be able to take leave in December 2017 then. I called Susan on 7 December asking her to re-instate my booking but she advised that she is WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO CONFIRM BUT NO ONE HAS PAID A DEPOSIT YET. I was a bit disappointed as my deposit was still with Susan but left it hoping that she will be able to reinstate my booking. On the Saturday 9 December I requested feedback again and she advised that the booking was taken and the full amount was paid for the cottage. She then advised that she will transfer my deposit back on the Monday. On Monday 11 December I was looking for other accommodation in Blouberg and saw on the site that she still has the same dates open and advertised. I asked a friend of mine to enquire on availability and again Susan advised my friend that she is awaiting confirmation that someone will take the cottage for 18 - 22 December where as Susan already advised me on the Saturday that the booking was already taken and paid for. It is utterly disgusting that someone can lie like that and I believe she was just trying to make money out of this. I asked Susan on the Tuesday when my deposit will be paid back and all of a sudden she had all kinds of excuses in paying back my deposit and that the advertising of the unit took up my entire deposit. This was not what we agreed on when first cancelling and she kept on lying re the availability of the cottage. I also then discovered that she lied again as the cottage are only booked up to Mid January 17 and not up to March as she told me when asking her to move my booking out to January 2018. Shocking in the least I will never recommend Susan - Blouberg beach cottage and will post it to all accommodation sites and hello Peter.

  This is a lovely little cottage with such a breathtaking view. The owners are friendly and willing to help you with anything you need.
