I don't normally write these, but couldn't help myself this time; this experience warrants an entire essay.

I'm writing this to save any future visitors of Aromatish the anguish I endured at this so called "cafe".

First let me clarify that I'm a coffee lover from Cape town, so am used to excellent flat whites.

But what I was served at this place cannot be called a flat white, not even a cappucino. In fact calling it coffee would be the greatest compliment I could grant the beverage I was served.

First off, the flavour made me want to CHUNDER. They give the option of single or double shot, and neither can be kept down by even the mightiest of stomachs. They should serve these with buckets.

Second, it didn't even look like a cappucino! The "foam" was about a cm deep, followed by piping hot "coffee". And guess why? Because they don't even use a proper coffee machine!!

Thirdly, I'd not normally be this honest about a place, but let me explain why. They have the audacity to charge R26 for a single cappicino, and R28 for a double! That's the same price as Origin in Cape Town, that is well-renowned for serving one of the best flat whites, but they have a right to! They have world class baristas, source the best coffee beans from around the world, and roast their own beans!
All these baristas from Aromatish roasted was my small intestine (still feeling it 3 hours later).

And if you're thinking of excusing them just cos Hermanus folk don't know about good coffee, think again. I had an excellent cup from Oskars and highly recommend it!

I hope this post will at least begin to reflect a more accurate rating of Aromatish. It's NOT worthy of 4 stars on Google; at most 2 stars.

And most importantly, I hav given this place an honest review of perhaps the worst coffee I've ever had the displeasure of drinking.

A cute confectionary shop with great music and amazing Californian baked cheesecake! An absolute must for cheesecake fanatics in search of 'the cheesecake'. Oh and they are the rare place that can actually make Lavazza coffee well

The owner of this delightful cafe is a suave, good looking Durbanite who cares deeply about cheesecake. As someone who shares all of those characteristics, I immediately liked him. After tasting some of his baking I fell in love - not with him, I mean with his chocolate cheesecake.
