Beautiful green grass and a great venue for family reunions and picnics
A beautiful and very well kept picnic venue.offers a good fishing spit.the accommodation is suitable for an overnight fishing trip and not more
Picture perfect, clean and neat picnjc and fishing spot
Well kept, clean and beautiful place to visit.
Great for fishing..and to have a braai..very neat and clean
A very disappointing experience.
* We enquired about costs for a family of 4 per night, those costs were R850 per night plus a R200 key deposit. Fair enough, however we decided to contact the owner for confirmation of the R850 price tag and he informed us that costs are in fact R750 per night for 4 people. The caretaker lied about the price and when confronted he shied away, realising his dishonesty.
* There are rather extreme signs placed about the “resort” stating one may not swim after 18:00. Really! This is a hot country.
* Areas are off limits where nice gatherings can be hosted however only available for work functions.
* Public restrooms were in an absolute state (remember your own loo paper). Restrooms kept locked by the braai areas, why? Caretaker could not provide a more simple explanation other than “because it’s locked”. Rather kurt if you ask me.
* At night, the entire property is more dark than a basement, which includes the restrooms which are dangerous at night as there are no lights on.
* Caretaker constantly watches you as you walk around the “resort” making one feel as if you will be gagged and dragged to an interrogation room if you had to remove your shirt.
* No privacy; whilst we were braaing, the caretaker and his enterage would invite themselves to our spot and make a very uncomfortable atmosphere as we prepared our meat for braaing. Very unprofessional.
* Saturday night, it was before 20:00 and we were told to turn our music off. Have you ever had a braai in complete silence? Really not a way to go about your evening.
* We were constantly harassed by their clapped out Citi golf which, to be honest, made more noise than our music but, we were told to turn our music off.
* Upon leaving, we cleaned the chalet up better than we found it however the now annoyed caretaker (from the previous nights confrontation) told us the place was dirty and made his presence known as he plucked the doors open and jotted heaven only knows what on his little clipboard.
* So, if you want a weekend more dead than a graveyard, where music is taboo, go to Arendsnes
One of the best venues for flyfishing on the Vaal.
Awesome Fly Fishing Venue
Entrance a bit expensive but very relaxing atmosphere
Spotless facilty. Refreshing pool. Good fishing
Beautiful terraced lawns under willow trees for a perfect picnic venue
