Sarah organized a fly fishing trip for us on the Pongola river. It was fantastic! The trip plan was very detailed and organized, everything went seamlessly! Also caught a great tiger as a bonus!!

Excellent. Did the three day amphitheatre hike through active escapes and it was one of the better decisions of my life. Expertly put together - everything was seamless. And the hike itself was exceptional. I'd recommend anybody to do it.

Port St John's to Coffee Bay Hike:
What an amazing hike and experience it was. Khanyile was the best guide we could have asked for. He is very knowledgeable about the indigenous fauna and flora along the route and was always helpful when we were struggling to get over rocks and carried my heavy pack for a while up the hills.
The homestay experience was extraordinary and I felt so welcome in their homes. I would have preferred to have only homestays the whole way, however everything was lovely. Hluleka was beautiful although there was no drinking water available for us, and the water that came out of the taps was saline. We were received by an unfriendly lady at Mdumbi backpackers who had said that she preferred the hikers to stay at homestays rather than their backpackers as they were designated for the hikers. However we enjoyed the whole experience and can't wait to book the same hike again in the near future! Thanks to Active Escapes for planning the trip!

I would like to thank Active Escapes for seamlessly organising the guided Maluti Hiking Trail for us. Our chalet hosts were so hospitable and generous. The food was delicious and plentiful and we were really spoilt. In particular, Cindy produced a superb braai, in very difficult circumstances. Thanks so much! A very special thanks goes to our guide, Mkhizi, who was extremely knowledgeable and did everything to ensure that we had an unforgettable hiking experience. Siyabonga was a great driver and we really appreciated seeing him at the end of our trail. We were very privileged to have met all of you.

I had a last minute trip to Johannesburg for work so searched for a guided trip in the Drakensberg - Sarah at Active Escapes put this trip together for me last minute and it was seamless. It was well organized, the hotels lovely and comfortable, everything worked on schedule. The guides were great. The trip itself, 3 days in the Drakensberg hiking from one hotel to the next, was just right - challenging for someone of average fitness but not too difficult. I felt tired but great at the end of each day. The region itself is spectacular for anyone who loves the outdoors and hiking. Well-maintained trails, not at all crowded. I highly recommend Active Escapes who were professional, very well organized, with great itineraries.

We did a 5 days hike along the Wild Coast with Active Escapes, and had an amazing time!
A stunning hike in a stunning area! We enjoyed every single moment of it, the rain, the sun, the wind, the amazing and ever changing landscapes, all the nice people along the way, the lodgings, Very well organized too.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in an adventurous way - we did the Active Escapes Wild Coast Meander hike from Kob Inn to Morgan Bay, and stayed at hotels and guest houses along the way. Fantastic experience I can highly recommend! And everything arranged by Sarah from Active Escapes worked like clockwork. Guides and porters arrived on time, switched zones, payments sorted and detailed maps and guidelines provided. Thank you so much! The trip of a lifetime :)
