So swimming with turtles in a small concrete enclosure is what it should be named. Water is very stale and you cannot see beyond five feet. Turtles are fed mangoes which I don't think is their usual appetite. Not ideal. Came out of water in five mins.
It's an ok place. While all the signs say it is open between 7am to 7pm, when we arrived around 7.30am it was closed.
We managed to see a few turtles which was a great plus.
With alil more customer service and an uplift to the location, this place will be great.
DO NOT COME HERE. There are far too many turtles in a small, dirty lagoon. It is not a sanctuary, but a jail for captured turtles. Sea turtles are amazing creatures that deserve respect and they are not given that here. Besides, you can swim with wild turtles in the ocean just up the road at Manase. This place should really be shut down. It's inhumane.
Horrible place. You can swim with the turtles, yes, but is so sad to see how they keep them there trapped. People is also taking them outside to take a damn picture. I even saw Samoan people taking the turtles up with their arms to take a picture and laughing like it was a toy. I told them not to do it and they reply with a few bad words. Please don’t go. They don’t care for the animals.
Was amazing to swim with the turtles, but the place is run down. And after visiting we bumped into a local who informed us that the turtles have been kept there for years in end and are never released. So more of a profit making prison than an sanctuary. Tarnished the memory.
Great place to go in Savai’i :) I definitely recommend to visit this place
Te kaitiekitanga hoki! Meinga Meinga!
It was a once in a lifetime experience swimming with turtles. One of the highlights of my time in savaii
beaucoup de tortues possibilité de donner à manger fait le bonheur des enfants
You cannot actually swim here... Misleading advertising. Interesting to see turtles, able to feed them but due to risk of infection transferred to turtles you are not allowed to swim (not that you would want to get into that lagoon....)
Kids loved it. They provided paw paw to feed the turtles so they are eat amongst the swimmers
