The view is beautiful, but $21 for the ride is overpriced. The food and drinks up there are not expensive, but the service is horrible, slow. I order fish, got chicken and after almost 40 minutes after my complaint they forgot to change...
Breathtaking view from the top. Tram had windows that let cooler air in and were good for taking pictures from.
Pretty cool - great views (of cruise ships mainly) and nice flowers. I think it is only like 900 feet above sea level, but it feels like 1000s. The vendors at the top of the hill are incredibly rude to tourists and you'd be well advised to keep your money. In general, folks in Charlotte Amalie really don't like north americans, but love your money.
Great view and very cool ride. Wish the folks running the stores and restaurant would have been a tad more welcoming. For the most part, everyone up top seemed as if they'd all just gotten some pretty bad news.
Fun little ride up to a scenic lookout. Some shopping, and a little restaurant up top make the trip worth the fare. I'm kidding, the view from up there is breathtaking, especially if there's a cruise ship at the dock.
Amazing views!. Great experience! .We ordered some drinks and enjoy every minute. Excellent service.
The SkySide to Paradise Point - REOPENED late February 2018 after Hurricane Irma and Maria.
The view is beautiful, but $21 for the ride is overpriced. The food and drinks up there is not expensive, but the service is horrible, slow. I order fish, got chicken and after almost 40 minutes after my complaint they forgot to change...
A little expensive, but whatever. Wish there was a little more to do at the top. Good photo opportunity.
An absolute MUST! The views are spectacular, and if you time it right, you get the day view, the sunset and the night view. We looked up the time of sunset and went up about 45 minutes prior. We walked around, looked at the shops of local goods and art, and then picked a seat along the railing (the tables having a view without cables from the gondola were reserved for a large party). The cables didn't bother my view, but I would have preferred no cables for photos.
The food and drinks are expensive, but I was expecting that and planned for it. We stayed in an all-inclusive resort, so paying for drinks seemed odd for a minute. Doesn't take long to get used to free bars! Both the food and the drinks were good, there is live music on Wednesday nights from 7 - 9 PM and the view makes it worth it.
Time it right and the sun will be setting while you eat, and you can sip a cocktail while you admire the harbor light up below.
The gondola ride is humorously expensive ($21 per person in 2017), however, there is a road you can drive or walk up. I am pretty sure it's free to use the road. TAKE NOTE: there were no advertisements for this, but I read it in a review and it is true... if you are staying in a hotel or resort, go on a Wednesday after 4 PM and bring your room key. They have a deal for locals for $5 per person. Sounds better huh? You just have to know this... if you are NOT coming in on a cruise, they consider you local. Just remember your room key (or bracelet). Again... Wednesdays after 4 PM.
The views are great up top but it isn't really worth the money unless you are really into photography.
Great experience. Ride up, drink, eat, take in the view then ride down. Simple.
Excellent views of the island from top. We didn't take the gondola but drove to the top. Roads are narrow and steep , but it's a just2 mins drive .There is ample space for at lest 20 cars to park at the top. Restaurant at the top has Panasonic views and nice selection of drinks as well. There are gift shops as well in case you need to get any souvenirs.
One of the best memories before I left St Thomas was here. I loved the trolley sitting on it and get risen in the sky. The view of St Thomas was beautiful from above. Paradise Island has a lot of tourist things to buy.
This was an awe-inspiring excursion, worth every penny! The views are spectacular & we liked that we could stay at the top of the mountain, enjoying the scenery as long as we wanted to. The restaurant & rest rooms were very clean. We would highly recommend going on this sky ride the next time you are in St. Thomas!
